This is a beautiful testimony that has helped me to really visualize what my sister experienced when she first got to heaven ... what my loved ones have experienced ... what I will experience one day.
I honestly can't think of a comparison book.
Himself ... although I came to really respect and adore Eva and his children.
I thank God for the way He blesses us with strengthening testimonies ... what a loving Father we have! I thank Don Piper for being obedient and hearing from God so as to share what God wanted him to share! What a blessing this testimony is.
This story is not about 90 minutes in Heaven it is about a man's accident and his recovery. Misleading for sure.
You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” ― C.S. Lewis
Though I enjoyed the book. Anyone who is anticipating 6 hours of descriptions of heaven and what it's like to be there is going to be heavely disappointed. Only a few moments are given to his description of heaven. Its mostley his story of the crash, hospitalization and how people reacted to it.
It has a positive message about life after death
The interesting part of the story was the positive message. The majority of the story is about the author's hospital recovery and rehabilitation on earth.
He narrates mostly from his perspective
Cherish every moment
SOMEONES EXPERIENCE OF WHAT PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR AND NOT HE FACTUAL EXPERIENCE OF THE AUTHOR --WHO EXPERIENCED 90 MINUTE WAS NOT ON POINT. WAS VERY CLOUDY ON THE FACTS OF THE MATTER,
NOT A BOOK I WOULD RECOMMEND!!!
HE SPOKE OF THINGS THAT PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR AND GOT AWAY FROM THE ACUTAL EXPERIENCE,.
THE BEST BOOKS ARE THOSE WHO ARE NOT TRYING TO PLEASE THE CROWD. BUT, ARE ACTUALLY EXPENCES OF FACT.
THE BETTER BOOK WOULD BE WITH THE CHILD ON THE FRONT COVER.
THEIR IS A HEAVEN
THIS IS A FACTUAL HAPPENING AND I GET IT A EXCELLENT AUDIO BOOK.
DON 'T MISS HEARING IT.
GREAT FACTS OF INTEREST.
I am a miracle worker. Doing what I can to choose love over fear.
A human touch as found in "proof of Heaven" and my. Favorite 'Heaven is for real"
It's only written I feel to nake money. Not to share a message.
The narration was the best part.
If you like NDE storiesthis audiobook is cheaper than his other one buy this so you have it in your collection I will jeep mime. Only God knows his moyives
Miraculous. Surprising. Peaceful.
His personal story given in first person.
Amazed. Laughed & cried all through it.
I know what I needed when I bought this book; a book that will help me understand why my beloved ones are there, and I am living here. He cheated me with this arrogant tome.
A preacher is compelled to pray and sing over a man (Piper) who was mangled in a car accident and assumed dead by EMTs. Surprisingly, Piper "pipes in" and joins in the singing, he's ALIVE!! Piper is then rushed to the hospital and ends up at one of the best medical centers in the U.S., where he is attended-to by dedicated and selfless medical experts using the latest technologies, and nurtured back to life with the encouragement of friends, family, and strangers.
Although it may be obvious to the reader that the expertise and humanity of the medical personnel play a pivotal role in Piper's survival, he himself asserts that the only reason he is alive is because of God and the power of prayer (OUCH!). This is not surprising though - he himself is a preacher. While "dead", he saw divine colors, heard glorious singing, saw dead friends/family (must be heaven), and felt someone holding his impossibly positioned hand (must be Jesus). Oh yeah, and he received *lots* of morphine before revealing this experience.
I was put-off by his use of coincidence to back up his claim of divine intervention: things along the line of "If I hadn't (miraculously) been taught that red means stop and green means go by my Sunday school teacher when I was 8, I may not have stopped at that intersection on my way home from work, and I'd probably be dead."
Unfortunately, I read a book about the holocaust right before reading "90...", and all I could think about were the 7 million people slaughtered and thousands of horrified TODDLERS thrown alive into burning furnaces, which seemed to make Piper's suffering and whining seem a bit dry in comparison, and made the song "What a Friend we have in Jesus" seem simply awkward.
To be fair, if I were ever left for dead, I'd probably use the opportunity to write about heaven too, and make a few million bucks to pay off the medical bills. If you are a believer, then this book will bring you hope. - P.S. Stem cell research led to the Ilizarov device.
