Delight in the journey and the struggle on the road to your dreams
This book began so slowly I came close to giving up on it. Adam Marsh's meltdown; the act that sets this whole story in motion was done in slow motion and with more detail than is imparted in The Odyssey. The characters aren't particularly well balanced for the most part; particularly for the first three quarters of the book. What saves this book is Adam's growth of character and the relationship between him and Chance the rescue dog. Well, that and the improvement in the relationship between Adam and his daughter Ariel; both of them growing as people as well as father and daughter. If you're able to get through the first couple of chapters it's a good listen.
This book made me laugh, and made me cry and want to hug my dog and never let go. One of my absolutely favorite books. Awesome!!!
There is nothing better than a good book!
What a fantastic story- this is the type of story and performance that I can never get enough of.... I laughed, I cried, I smiled.... I thanked the stars above for my own amazing/precious/priceless "good" dog!!!
There is nothing quite so engaging as a love story between dog and man.
Every character in the book was real to me so difficult to say which one I liked best.
Oh yes, it made me cry for sure, very emotional
If you are an animal lover a must read and if you are not, still a must read!
I loved this book and didn't want it to end. I laughed, cried and cheered. Absolutely a book I will listen to again. I'll be looking for more by this author.
the Dog- Chance
I owned a Bull Terrior and i could visualize him In his cage, set free, and the rest without giving away the story
It made me cry - I could identify with Adam and visualize the dog. i could feel the way they gelled, I could feel the pain each one experienced - loved it
a must listen to.
I really enjoyed this book because it was very well read.
The story got my attention thanks to the way the characters grow through out the story.
Listening to this book it was almost like watching a movie for me. The performers really nailed the characters and made them alive.
The Good Dog
Say something about yourself!
This book I could not put down. It was so depressing but kept me wanting to listen to more and more. Once Chance and Adam became friends, I was beyond addicted. My heart broke for both their difficult lives and I still can not stop thinking of this book. So well done!
This is a wonderful book about redemption. Adam lost his high power job after he blows up at his secretary. He needs to come to terms with his past. Community service work helps him find his way back.
The good pig
The dogs huddled under the bridge in the snow storm
the dog fighting descriptions made my skin crawl
I am married ( 26 years and counting!), I have two children a boy 16 and a girl 21. I love reading, gardening, knitting, art! People who say they would be bored when they retire just don't know themselves very well! I, on the other hand can't wait to have the time to do more of the things I truly love! Maybe write a book, a dream I have always had of doing!
Anger, struggle, joy
The theme that we all are delt blows, sometimes through our own stupidity; but growth in our soul happens when we least expect it!
