What a terrific story. I loved this book. There were so many themes that parallel my own life and issues I have dealt with. I'm sure many a listener will feel the same way. Here you experience the demise of both a human and a canine who find each other and reluctantly team up to climb out of their misfortune and find redemption through profound personal change. I loved the reading device of using two distinct voices for the dog and human sides of the story. I highly recommend this audio-book
Started a bit slow, but I went through all emotions by the time I finished. Good author, and good narrator.
The pace was perfect. The narrator just right. I think this book would have been way less powerful without the dog's perspective.
Looking forward to more books by this author and narrator.

I loved the human characters, and I love dogs. However, Susan Wilson has enough storytelling talent to avoid giving the dog a voice so that we can hear his "thoughts." There was no need for this technique and it detracted from the story.
I only hope this could be a true story about a pit bull trained to fight. Don't know if it's possible, but it sure is a great story and great storytelling. I don't give many five star ratings.
This story wasn't anything like what I expected. In the early stages I even considered turning it off because I didn't think I could listen to anything that detailed dog abuse. In the end, I'm very glad I stayed with it. It's an excellent and uplifting story.
I really loved this book. For perspective, I run with two dogs everyday and love 'em. My political views tend to be live and let live. The book is terrific. Could have been preachy, but wasn't. It brought a tear to my eye. One of the best...
I wasn't so sure that I would really enjoy this book, the description sounded a little contrived. I could not put the book down. Very well written and probably more true than we realize. Thanks
