I read this series as a boy and now many years later I delighted to see the world of Robert Jordan spring me back to a world of adventure, battles, triumphs, love a hope. Every step along the journey is a treasure that young and old alike will find themselves swept away in this powerful epic story. An absolute must have for any who enjoy reading or listening... a tale for all generations.
Sure, after I finish the series and that should take some time considering there are...fourteen books in the series plus the prequel and at least 2 short stories that I know of.
Usually people pick the main character, it is typical usually due to the main character getting the majority of face time with the reader, but it is much harder with the "Wheel of Time" series. This is mainly due to the fact that Jordan gives a seemingly equal amount of time to all the major players, at least once they become major players.
I read the first four books of this series quite a few years ago. I have all of the fourteen books as well as the prequel, but have not read any further. Being much older now I have a much harder time finding the time to actually sit and read. I can faithfully say that I am happy as all get out that audio books have become popular enough to actually publish books that I enjoy as well as getting readers as good as Kate Reading and Michael Kramer.
I enjoyed this book a great deal, however I did not like the fact that each sectionof the Audiobook did not match up with chapters of the actual book. otherwise an excellent listen, though.
The title says it all! Give it a chance, you wont regret it. Come on!
Loved it. The sections Kate covered were slightly jarring and sounded too mechanical IMO. But, being a first time reader/listener to the Wheel of Time series, I was thoroughly impressed.
I am terribly excited to journey on into the books that follow this one. The only marring feature of this book was that (SPOILERS) the final trip into the blight and the battle at the eye of the world felt very... Compacted. I am not sure how it could have been constructed better, nevertheless it felt apart from the rest of the tale.
The story is excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy. My only issue is in the first quarter of the book the narrator is reading very fast. I had to slow down his speed to catch what was going on.
I love the narrators, they were brilliant! The book itself was interesting, but me being such a late comer to it I've "damaged" myself with so much Fantasy that I could guess everything that was going to happen. Oh well, still not a bad book; I'd recommend it to people who like Fantasy or would like to try reading some.
