"Wish I Could Get a Refund"
I was searching and searching to find a good fantasy book, along the lines of Cinder by Marissa Meyer, or Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. I was lured into this purchase upon seeing the 4 star rating and numerous rave reviews. Disappointment would be an understatement. Nowadays it seems that "young adult fiction" is just another phrase for a big helping of literary crap. It seems like finding a decent fantasy book is as difficult as winning the lottery.

"Beautiful Story, Creative Plot, Interesting Charac"
The background music, the song
Realistic teenager in high school background. Good pacing. Kept up interest with some mystery as to what was happening. Love story is sweet.
Ethan and Lena.
Yes. there were many such moments. The way Lena caused things in nature to happen by her moods and emotions....and Ethan understood her and stood by her, tried to protect her. Their relationship grew to be very sweet and caring.
no.
"IF YOUR A GUY READ THIS BOOK!!!!!"
I am a Father of 4 children that are always getting different books on here. I have the great job of reading the actual book or listening to the book before hand to make sure its appropriate. First of all, I did not have great expectations for this book, BUT, WOW!!! If you are a boy and you are in Jr High/High School...READ THIS BOOK!!! This is a love story where two people meet and it might be love at first sight but let me tell you, it is not easy. I could easily identify with the main characters anxiety, fear, just the constant thought of wondering if the person you have so much feelings for is thinking the same thing as you are. The authors do a wonderful job in creating an atmosphere that put me back in high school with all the tremendous character development. I HAD to get all three books and find out if this love story was going to work out. TRUST ME...this is like nothing you have read before. Don't give up, just read or listen on and you will love this book. A real love story with supernatural elements in it. I cant say enough about this book. GET IT and you can thank me later.
Paranormal-urban fantasy book lover!
"I CAN & DO recommend this book!"
I didn't mind the music or sound effects. I think it added to the story. The narration was spot on. I can't wait to get to the next book!
Thanks Jules :)
I loved reading for years, but now I've become so attached to Audible I'm finding reading tedious. Is that a bad thing?....
"Really too much."
I couldn't stand the sound effects and music. It takes away from the book.
Silver Linings Playbook
He's mediocre, but the production was just bad.
I was first introduced to audiobooks during a summer when I decided to drive a truck in order to pay for college. Listening to books all day, every day was the only thing that made that job bearable.
"One of My Favorite Audiobook Performances"
I absolutely would, if only for the amazing performance by Collins. The story is pretty good, but Collins' reading adds so much character to this story set in the South.
No I haven't, but I will be searching for them. He's fantastic.
No, and that brings me to the one real problem I had with this book: it's just too long. It is over 17 hours long, but there's probably only 12 hours of story here.
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end and I can't wait to read the sequels. The combination of great characters, an intriguing setting, and a perfect reader performance let this book be far better than it has any right to be.
"Not bad- not good"
More in depth characters and more clarification, somehow the story gets a bit "muddled". Overall this book is a good idea, but it's like a fantastic dish that misses salt and pepper.
No, I don' t think so
It has been made into a movie, and the movie wasn't that great. Even the movie did not capture the characters really well.
Get it when it's on sale, and you like young Adult fiction. Writing is ok, nothing superb.
I'm an LMT originally from the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. I lived in NYC off and on for 15 years. I decided I had enough of long cold winters so summer of 2012 I relocated and now live in sunny Sarasota FL and loving every moment of it. My favorite thing to do is lay on the beach all day long listening to the waves and a great audible book.
"Great Read"
Great story, however, I could not identify with the leading characters simply because of my age. It seems more suitable to young adults which is obvious but great story.
Ama and the uncle meeting in the swamp. It was such a point of revelation into more depth in the story and a turning point in my direction of thinking.
Ridley
I love the scene with Ama in the cemetery when her true feelings of love for the boy comes to light.
"I wouldnt waste a credit on this one...."
Bad plot added music...and I think at the beginning there was something wrong with the recording?! Wants to be twilight but the story just isn't involved enough and neither are the characters. Lets hope the movie does a better job...but wait isn't it supposed to be the other way round?
"Pleasantly Surprised"
He did an absolutely wonderful job with all the characters he performed. However, my favorite character as performed by Kevin was Macon Ravenwood and Amma. He brought out Amma's sassyness and Macon's sofistication as well as their magnificent Southern drawl. LOVED IT!!!!!
