Yes, the story keeps you hooked
Love how the narrarator distinguished the characters. He's awesome!!
The story line is very complex yet easy to follow. The Character are GREAT!
When they are transporting the book and the end of the book
Both Laugh and cry at times
If you read this book ..... DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE I walked out the movie was so far off from the book it was sad.
I enjoyed this enough to become hooked on the series. It's sort of a mix of Twilight and Harry Potter, but the narrator is the male "mortal" teenager, and his girlfriend is a Caster (think wizard). The authors do a great job of creating Ethan and Lena's world, and the ancillary characters are particularly strong. In fact, by the third book, I was more interested in their stories than in the main romance.
The narrator is particularly good. He does a great job with a variety of characters and accents. The only thing I didn't like was the "canned" background sounds during the flashback scenes. For some reason, they give me a headache. Other than that, I recommend these books for both teen and adult readers (I teach middle school, so am sort of part of both demographics).
Books are my escape. Some books are even more inventive with someone else to make the right decisions on tones and inflection.
The audio was better then reading it. There's a tune that keeps playing in the book, and I was never able to do anything but read, but on audio when the tune starts before the words you get excited by what's about to come. The series is worth listening to versus reading.
It was seriously creative and was extremely visual. It is a little young, but it was fun to get lost in the story line.
This book was ok. The book held my attention the story was ok and I like the length of the book I felt as if I got my money's worth or my credit worth at least. I hate it when the book is to short you feel like your are getting ripped off for the amount of money you pay. The only thing that puts me off is the song. If I never hear that song again it will be too soon. It's an enjoyable listen you can give it a try.
This book is a good teen read, I enjoyed the characters. I think that there wasn't a lot of story development but was still enjoyable.
When the main characters Lena and Ethan first saw each other.
This was the first time I heard his performance, and I enjoyed his narratives.
Maybe. As long as it's not part of this series.
I would have made it much shorter. I didn't mind this book, but I felt that too many things were unnecessarily beaten into our heads, and I was really getting sick of Lena's whining after awhile. I enjoyed the story and liked the ending, but I just don't think I can stomach another two novels of this.
I have no complaints about the performance at all. I probably wouldn't have imagined the southern accent while reading, even though it makes perfect sense that Ethan would have one.
Yes and no. Certainly it was worth some of my time, but not really 17 hours worth.
Dear Kami Garcia: We get the point. Lena's eyes are GREEN. Seriously, I think this is mentioned almost 100 times, or at least it feels like it's that much.
I assumed it would be more of an adult story-line, but instead it's more for a teen/ young adult age group.
actually.. not bad at all really.
I watched the movie recently... And it Sucked!!
