Fairly highly as the performance is so good and the story is woven in such a way that I just had to find out what was going to happen. Even though this is not a particularly original tale, it has enough twists to keep a reader/listener wanting more.
I love the scene at the dining table when all the family are gathered and Ridley is trying to cause trouble.
I loved that he had a slight accent, but not too much, I also liked the fact that he sounded young without being juvenile.
I felt mesmerized, something about the music, the 16 song and the story itself.
I can't wait to read the next part of this story.
Yes, because it is a great story
I really liked the music in the background for some parts
No, not yet.
the music really helped
Anyone who says they have only one life to live must not know how to read a book. ~ Author Unknown
Sadly this book sparked nothing in me. It looked interesting. My "young adults" were interested in it. In the end we all had the same comments... this book is flat. There is no dimension, no character development that allows you to develop empathy and become engaged.
We all love to read and will try almost anything but we all put this book down in disappointment. It reads more like someones dry retelling of events than an immersive journey through experiences and emotion.
I really wanted to like this book but was sadly disappointed.
I like any books that hook you within the first chapter. If a love story is involved even better.
I think so. I melted into the story because Kevin T. Collins did such a great job.
I honestly can not pick just one.
His emotion and accents are amazing. Every character has a different voice it is truly amazing. I can't believe he did the book by himself.
Yes and then wanted another one to listen to all in one setting and another.
Do not get this book if you are expecting it to be like the movie. Because, this book is 800 million times BETTER than the movie. If you do get this book you will not regret any moment of it.
I may listen to this one again...it is so much better than the movie!
I love a good fantasy even if it is a teen fiction. I want to fall into a story and escape reality and I escaped.
Kevin T. Collins is my favorite narrator. He is so good at bringing the characters to life!!
I am an avid reader, Audible addict-I have always LOVED reading, can't get my hands on enough reading material-I am always the last to see a movie based on a book because of how much I always feel they are missing or ruining...so when I say that I actually enjoyed the movie and gagged my way through this completely horrible book, please know that it is nearly sacrilegious. I will say that I actually did enjoy reading the Twilight series (hated the movies) and am a pretty open minded reader- This book is so poorly written, has such a stupid story line and is just plane bad...I watched the movie because I could not get through this book-and found the movie satisfying enough to go ahead a slog through the rest of the book thinking that maybe it would redeem itself because the movie did...WRONG!!!! Lesson learned-on to a different writer and series.
Yes, for someone that cannot sit for hours at the time; this is best.
The twisting life of the kingdom. The underground world of the thieves. The used of the magic in the story.
If Kevin T. Collins is the narrator, I will listen! He was great; enthusiastic, entertaining and a completely captivating voice.
I will not be reading/listening to the other Beautiful Creatures books. While I enjoyed the book up until the last couple chapters, the ending was so obvious that I became upset with the authors.
Collins is a terrific narrator who creates the scene in your mind as you listen to his accented words. Garcia & Stohl are descriptive authors who transport you into the south (difficult to do for a northern gal who has never been south of DC).
Good story. Cute YA read.
No. But i know it has one so oh well.
Ditch the music!
Intense annoyance and disappointment.
I should start off by saying I am not picky about my books. My tastes are all over the map and it is rare that I despise a book so much that I can not even finish listening to it, but this one grated my nerves with each passing minute. The narrators southern accent was ridiculous and the music that kept playing was more than I could take. I have been told by several friends who actually read the book that the story was good but for me the audio version was so bad I could not even finish it.
