I love reading and listening to books, especially fantasy, science fiction, children's, historical, and classics.
"An Interesting, Earnest, and Rational Atheist"
I've never read anything by Richard Dawkins and had never heard him speak before, so I was interested in hearing him interviewed and found his manner and voice and rational thinking and careful articulating of his ideas and experiences very impressive. This interview is pretty short, though, and part of it is almost concerned with promoting his God Delusion audiobook, but it's free, and he's an important, necessary figure to our cultures right now.
"Where is the audiobook?"
Interesting interview, which is not highly tolerant towards believers, but is thoughtful and intelligent.
The actual book seems to have disappeared from Audible. Why is this? Surely not fundamentalist censorship?
"Heard it on NPR"
I originally heard this interview on NPR, and I was inspired to read the book. I highly recommend it - especially to those dyed-in-the-wool Christians who think they know everything. Check out the OTHER side of the story!
"Typical interview."
I have not read Mr. Dawkins book, but in this interview he shows himself willing to chase red herrings (Are atheists missing something? Does religion have a survival value?) and blandly accepts some dubious assumptions (Religion is surging in America). I can strongly recommend Carl Sagan's book A Demon-Haunted World, ably read by the author, not (yet?) available from Audible.
I heard a good book today!
"Good Interview"
Great interview , I Enjoyed listining it. I am waiting for the book on audible.com
"Short interview, but good questions"
This interview will not help you decide on purchasing the book proper. It will, however help you understand more about Dawkins' motivations in writing.
"Really...!"
Dawkins is so like most of the self styled academics, predictable and boring. If there turns out to be no God, the world is better with the values as taught in Religion. He is given way too much attention.
"Poor sap"
It's amazing to believe this guy can get published. His grandiose ideas that humans and nature are the only things responsible for life on earth are really sad. I can only pray for him.
