Narrator's voice is not the least bit soothing or pleasant but neither is insomnia. Definitely should have been broken into chapters so you will need to create 2 or 3 bookmarks. Bottom line, I have yet to be awake to hear the end of one of the sessions. That's what I really bought it for.
it works better than any drug and is beneficial in so many ways. I especially enjoy having more than one induction. the one about creativity is my favorite. I have been a board certified clinical hypnotherapist since 1984. I can tell you in my professional opinion as well as my personal opinion , all of this man's for is some of the best I have heard.
I bought this recording a while back and forgot about it. I have this bad habit of watching movies late at night on my iPad. Recently, my internet service stopped working in my bedroom. I was sure that I would not be able to sleep. There was Audible. So, I decided to give it a try. So far, it takes me less than five minutes to fall asleep. I wake up feeling like I slept. It may take others a little longer to fall asleep. I have used hypnotic recordings in the past. This one really works without any music in the background.
There is no story. However, the author explains his technique before starting. After the first evening I fast forward to the hypnotic suggestions.
The best part of my experience with this book is that I slept through it. If I said that about any other book that would be a very bad thing to say, but for this book it was the point!
I traveled from California to Ireland for business, and I just could not sleep at night while I was there. Thankfully I was only there for a few days, but I could not sleep at all. I was tired during the day, and wide awake at night. I would just lay in the dark in my hotel room, unable to get any sleep. Even the medication that my doctor sent with me did not help! On the last night I was there, I downloaded this book out of desperation. By that time I was so exhausted, and had tried everything - wine, medication, laying in the dark for hours - and nothing worked. My father was a Marine, and he had the same trouble when traveling across many time zones. We must have very strong circadian rhythms.
I've never tried hypnosis before, and always regarded it as a parlor trick. But I was willing to try anything so I put my headphones in and listened to this book. After listening to the beginning, I actually fell asleep! I ended up getting almost 2 hours of sleep, and woke up not long after the book ended. 2 hours of sleep may not seem like much, but it was enough for me to feel a little better and enable me to get ready, packed and through airport security and customs to my flight the next day. I'm very thankful for the little sleep I got.
I have such a hard time sleeping... Well I did before I found did audio book. I fall fast asleep within about 10 minutes of listening. This book also helps you on the subconscious level so the messages it gives you while you are sleeping make you wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. Love love this book! I was going to get more like it but why spend the money when this is the one that does the trick!
I was skeptical if this could help me, but I got results the first night and every night I've used it since! If I listen to it consecutive nights there is an added cumulative effect.
It takes some time but it's well worth the result. Took about two weeks for the results to start and now (a year on) I only use it when needed. There is a spot at the start of chapter 4 that will wake you up again if you play the whole thing through. I find the best results if I skip to chapter 3, set the snooze the snooze for the end of the chapter then skip back to chapter two.
I've tried about 4 different hypnosis products for sleep and this was the one that works for me. I highly recommend it.
