Why such high ratings? I think these reviewers are related to the authors in some way. Most of this audiobook is telling you how good it is and what it is going to tell you. This is a book from the owners of Men's Health magazine, which is a good magazine, but this tells you nothing new and endless rants about themselves and how bad other diets are. In the audiobook its hard to fast forward to the helpful bits(about 10 mins worth). Maybe in print you can just flip through the pages. Basically its eat protein, exercise more, frequent meals .... heard it before? Yep, of course you have.
This will get you motivated to change your lifestyle & make you realize that proper nutrition can also be "fast food" if you know what to look for. The diet information in this book will have you eating more than you can imagine & the the workouts will leave you wondering why you don't have to buy a new pair of running shoes every other month. All I can say is this, I am real & I stuck to the plan with amazing results. This book has opened my eyes to real proper nutrition and exercise.
Exercise more and eat the right food. It seems sensible and has helped me get in shape. Audio, is not the optimal format for this kind of book. But I would recommend it.
This is a very good book, if you want to change your life, and feel better about yourself, do not hesitate to buy it, using the things I have learned in the book and put them in practice every day are a very easy way of having a better quality life.
This is a good book. It simplifies the priorities of healthy eating and weight training and talks about protein, calcium, and nutrients you need for good weight loss. The speaker could be a little more animated. But there is only one PDF with the book and it is only meal plans and glycemic index. Where are the exercises that the speaker refers to? Do I have to buy the workout now too? --- a little disgruntled!
be more animated
Where is the PDF for exercises???
The information that was presented did not require this much time. Most who did not know would enjoy.
Nice voice. Easy listening.
Information is dense at times and easier to absorb in more than one sitting.
The author makes sexualized comments throughout the book. As a woman, I felt like I was overhearing comments a guy would make to another guy in a locker room setting. Besides that weird piece, I liked the book and the information. I will listen to it again and again.
Yes. Well-narrated and interesting. Good suggestions which I am following, for example: metabolism remains higher after working out in bursts followed by periods of rest, when compared with a session of steady-state exercise, like jogging at the same pace for the same length of time.
Also, a person should eat as soon after exercising as possible so that the body doesn't break down its own tissues to build up the muscle. Both the nutrition section and workout section were very good and motivating.
The Zone books by Barry Sears, because of the great discussions on diet and exercise and how they relate to each other.
The one I wrote about above.
No. Not that kind of book - I felt informed.
I've read many books on nutrition and this book compares quite favourably with them.
for me yes, I'm more of a listener than a reader
As I explained, the accompanying material for the audio book "The Abs Diet" is incomplete. Several times in the audio book, it states that the diet plan and recipe PDF files are included and obtainable as accompanying material at the Audible website. When you click on the PDF link under the book title in "My Library" there are seven (7) PDF files but they are ALL for the exersize plan. Please advise us where or how to obtain the diet plan and recipe section of this book. Thank You,
