I didn't hate this story but it wasn't the best either. I just didn't see the romance develop and it all happened too fast. She meets him one day and has sex the next and a week later they are in love...it just didn't work for me. I like Linda Howard and the narrator was decent but the story needed more...something. Okay for a light listen.
I've always enjoyed this book and wanted to see how it would sound. There is so much emphasis in the descriptions on how the voice of the main male character sounds. I guess a woman just can't do a man's voice justice. It didn't really sound all that deep or slow or cajun to me. Other than the main character's voice, the narration was ok. I actually really liked the voice of the female main character. The story was a good one and the expression in the tense or steamy scenes was done well.
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
This was a very good read. Karen and Marc's foray into the search for her father's murder and the reason behind it was very good. Linda normally takes us on a couple of twists and turns. The only sad part of the story was when the undercover agent was killed and his son took over.
Again Natalie Ross did an excellent job performing the story. She is one of my favorite narrators.
Worth your credit.
Murder, romance, sex..
Marc. Becuase the narrator gave him a sexy-as-hell Naw'lins accent.
Everything. Each character was perfectly done.
I was a little concerned that this was going to be too much romance and not enough mystery and murder but once the romance was introduced, when the first murder was commited, the book ran along just fine. I did love Marc and Karen. Hated ALL the bad guys so now I'm going to
read & listen to John Medina's story. I hope it has the same narrator because she was phenomenal.
Someone to actually write a book, the book is poorly written and totally unbelievable plot, the sex dominated this writing and I just fast forwarded thru them .
The unbelievable killers
Don't waste your time or money
Probably not. It did not live up to my expectations.
No, I do not think it was typical for this genre.
Somewhat, although things were not always clear.
No, would not want to read a follow-up.
This book was more erotic than mysterious. I think the author spent too much time describing sexual situations in great detail rather than providing mystery or suspense. Not exactly what I expected this book would be.
12 step program please. I am addicted to Audible! I love trashy sexy books, award winning novels and everything between. Bring it!
I liked that New Orleans serves as the backdrop to Kill and Tell because it only positively highlights the parallel story threads: one of suspense and mystery and the other of sexy something. Unfortunately, this audio book felt a little lopsided and unbalanced. On the one hand you have a nice suspenseful mystery; and it was well developed and that is the saving grace of this book. Why was Karen’s father killed? What is the deal with that little black book? What is the connection to Vietnam? And then we have the almost romantic story. The story was not developed and it left me wanting for more. Mark and Karen hook up and have incredibly sexual chemistry and after, I don't know, 36 total hours in bed, they declare their love, stop using condoms and decide to get married. It felt a little too drunken Vegas for me and I didn't see the purpose of the love declaration or marriage. Come on kids, just keep having great sex. Why ruin the story with marriage and love! It felt forced - as if it wanted to be a romance book and just didn't know how to get there. I need the emotional chemistry, courting, chasing, funny and sweet back and forth to be integral to my romance favorites. Kill and Tell was missing that.
Good - the mystery was resolved and I was even a little surprised.
I like her narration - she has a nice voice, and is able to give everyone voice. She knows how to make her leading men sound sexy.
Too much sex. I didn't need to hear any more anatomical descriptions. The mystery story is good but it drags with each sex scene. A real yawner. Very dated. The actual copyright is 1998.
Of course Kill & Tell is a GOOD BOOK! This is Linda Howard! This story had me wondering and anticipating the outcome. Slowly but nicely Ms Howard takes you on a trip with her writing. Its a fun "reader ride".
The narrator was not very good. She would get louder and softer in almost every sentence so you were either blasting your eardrums or straining to hear the words. It was maddening and totally turned me off the book.
