very funny book and narrator does a great job if you are into vampire romance this is a good one for you
Snarky, witty, sexy and fun. Amanda Ronconi gives depth and flare with her sarcastic inflection. I would highly recommend this and all other Molly Harper books.
I have so enjoyed this series of books. What a refreshing and funny take on being a vampire! It was touching and yet so funny, I laughed aloud many times. And the narrator is one of my favorites! Enjoy!
This series is great! The perfect cross between the zany characters of True Blood and the drama of Twilight. Devoured all three books and can't wait for more. Well read by Amanda Ronconi, who has become my favorite narrator so far.
Even though I don't usually go for the paranormal genre and have left it for my teenage kids to read I purchased the book 'HowTo Flirt With A Naked Werewolf ' when Audible had it on sale since it had so many great reviews. It sat in my Audible library for months before I finally downloaded it and then it stayed for awhile longer in my Itunes library before I finaly uploaded it onto my Itouch.
It only took me less than 5 minutes of listening to before I was hooked and I've since purchased all of Molly Harper's audio books.
Amanda Ronconi is an amazing narrator (that is really better described as a performance) and brings each of the characters to life.
If you are like me and have been hesitant to give paranormal romances a try I promise you won't be disappointed with this audio book or any of the other audio books my this author!
I'm a relationship coach (QueenBeesCoaching), survived raising my children and have a loving relationship. Life is good!
On a recommendation I purchased the first audiobook in this series 'Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs', as I do like a lighthearted paranormal romance upon occasion. Well, I fell in love with the author just that fast and immediately purchased this second book in the series. Lucky for me it was just as much fun to listen to.
The narrator is fabulous. I could listen to her voice all day, and well, pretty much did! It was such a fun story/series, that I had it on every chance I got. In fact, I was excited about an hour drive I needed to take! It gave me that much more time to listen while driving. The narrators inflections are perfect. Her rendition of this story really made it better. I mean, the story was fun, but Amanda Ronconi took it to another level of good.
Now I've moved on to the third book in this series 'Nice Girls Don't Live Forever', and I've also downloaded ALL of Molly Harpers books now! I like her humorous writing style that much! And I'm absolutely delighted that Amanda Ronconi is the narrator on all her books.
This book is fun and might stand alone, but I'd recommend listening to the series in order. And it's a bonus that all books are out, so you do not have to wait for the next one!
It was a great book to keep playing when I was driving, doing mindless chores, eating dinner.. lol. I did not want to stop listening as I was enjoying the story line so much. As an added bonus they are not bloody or gory. I do not like books that paint too realistic a picture in my head. This book painted a picture with words, but did it in a humorous and sometimes sarcastic way. And the story line kept surprising me.
I'm anxiously awaiting Molly Harpers future books. I'll buy them in a heartbeat without thinking twice.
Reviewing Romance & Urban Fantasy
I've read a lot of vampire books, some dark, some smut filled and it's nice to read and it’s nice to take a break from some of the darker Urban Fantasy ones to enjoy a light funny read. With vampires are named Dick Cheney (not the ex-vice prez) how can it not make you laugh.
In this installment of the series the gang deals with Zeb and Jolene’s wedding. Let me just say if I had a family that was as nosey as Jane, Zeb and Jolene’s I would have moved or gone to jail for killing a few of them. It actually got to the point to where it got a little annoying. I kept thing that all three of them needed to grow a part of balls and stand up to their families.
Each chapter starts with a saying from the book “Mating Rituals and Love Customs of the Were”. This helps set the mood for the wedding horrors for that following chapter.
Zeb starts acting weird halfway through the book but I quickly figure out what’s going on and wait to see how long it takes our main characters to get on board with the answer to WTH is wrong with him. Another character starts acting a bit like a stalker towards Jane is her high school crush, Adam. First he comes off sweet and seems to have taken a real liking to Jane the adult when he didn’t give Jane the teenager a second thought. Just when you think there might be a love triangle starting it ends when Jane uses her very spotty mind reading trick.
Jane and Gabriel’s relationship is far from perfect and things start to get even rockier towards the end of the book which leaves a lot of unanswered questions for Jane. But I’ve already started the 3rd book and it seems that the relationship problems that start in Nice Girls Don’t Date Dead Men are the setup for the main plot for Nice Girls Don’t Live Forever.
So in a nut shell NGDDD is about horrors of everything that surrounds planning a wedding and having to wear the ugliest braids maid dress and the ups and downs of relationships; plus controlling yourself enough to keep from killing your family.
I can't get enough of these books. I love the characters and the dialog between them. The plot lines of this story is great and everything keeps you guessing. I wish Molly Harper would write some more of them with the same awesome characters.
I laughed so hard my girls wanted to know what it was all about. They loved it too. You must listen can't wait for book three.
