I really enjoyed listening to this book. I think it is one of those books better heard than read...especially with this reader. She is wonderful with great comedic timing and delivery. I laughed out loud listening to this on a plane the other day and several people turned to see what was so funny. Light and predictable but absolutely delightful anyway!
What I wanted was a funny, romantic comedy to listen to while I ran. I got what I wanted. Isn't it nice to get exactly what you expect out of a book? The narrator is very good, she does a pretty descent job of a male voice. And that's really the hard part of listenning to a book, isn't it? The voice you may have applied to a character is decided away from you, your imagination slightly handicapped by anothers impressions. But that's okay, the narrator did a splendid job of reading this story.
The story is cute, the characters are adorable (even the flat ones)and it is a great escape.
Loved it. Laughed out loud and enjoyed the writing and the narration was great. A romantic escape. Excellent dialog. I have 3 of her audios and loved them.
A true chic lit
Romantic but not sickeningly sweet. several laugh out loud funny parts.
I enjoyed it so much, I would rewind and listen to dialogue over again.
If you enjoy romantic comedy, this is a must read.
P. S. My name is Deborah, my husband Tom did Not write this review.
I wasn't really expecting too much from this listen, but was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I liked the characters as well as the plot, though the ending is a bit perdictable. A very entertaining and enjoyable listen
Not a bad beach book, but I found this particular narrator's rendition annoying and distracting. She read men's words in a "deep" voice, like if you were reading to a child, and children's voices in a "tiny" voice; again, like you would read a bedtime story to a child, trying to do the voices yourself. The narrator of the Harry Potter novels carries this technique off well, but not this narrator. Read it instead.
