"There are no endings, and never will be endings, to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was an ending."
This needed to be the last two sentences of this series. I'm not going to go into all the things this trilogy and WOT have in common, but it is definitely the same world.
I'm not an expert on book reviews or knowledgeable in any sense. But, I loved this book (trilogy). I though the performance was good, as well as the story. It had to end sadly, but so must all good things.
The author did a great job with book 3 and strengthen many of the characters. I found the conclusion very satisfying, but also sad because the story was over and there was not another book to read next. I really look forward to any more books in this universe as the world is fascinating and the author has done the wonderful job of creating a new fantasy universe..
there were some parts where the narrative felt like entire chapters were skipped or just missing. there were some good plot points, great even, but some of the execution just seemed to he missing. overall pleased, and we'll read his future work
paul made it tough to listen to. when I character yells I feel the narrator should yell. when a character laughs the narrator should. that want done much here. Simon Vance is someone who I feel does it well. he narrates Brent weeks other series the light bringer series.
De loin la meilleure série de livre que j'ai lis. L'histoire, les personnages et le monde sont très bien construit et tout les émotions dégager par ces acteurs nous envoute a vouloir connaître plus d'eux!
Magnificent story, characters and world, altogether creating something you look forward to reading more about, or hearing about in this case. All of the individuals in this story have real living emotions which you can relate to, and root for them. It's simply the best series I've ever read!
Book Addict and a Fantasy Fanatic!
First let me say that I wish this wasn't a trilogy. These series could have gone on further. I'm going to miss Kylar and Durzo. I love finding strong fantasy writing that isn't geared toward teenagers. No offense to my YA readers :-) Great story and character building. 5 stars.
In this last installment we follow Kylar as he does everything he can to make Logan king. He even gives his life, but that's not so bad when you are immortal. Or is it? We've always known there was a price for each of Kylar's resurrections, but is it a price he can live with. The answer turns out to be No.
Logan is a sure thing for King of Cernaria. At least most people think so. However, Logan seems to do everything he can not to take the crown. His character really irritates me in this book. He puts honor above all things. He is faced with killing Kylar or saving face. His decision changes how I look at him now. In all, this is an excellent series.
SLIGHT SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT...
Slight spoiler that you will get from reading the summary anyway: Durzo returns. I love this. But... it could have been done better. It seems like Kylar just ups and knows he is alive one day. There were never any hints or clues. it makes it seem like a spur of the moment decision by the author to bring him back. If Kylar's thought there was a chance Durzo would come back, he would have never buried him. And who was the body that was buried and dug up for proof?
Now I know this will make me out to be heartless, but I hate Eline's character. I never liked her. When she was Doll Girl I could deal with her, but when she turned into the Nun-who-does-no-wrong I really start to dislike her. even with all the live and kindness the author tries to pour into her, she pissed me off in every way. She tries to turn our hero into something he is not. A truly good person would love the man he is and try to support him. Which gets to our other female... Vie. Now I like Vie I was hoping Kylar would fall for her.
With this being the last book, I feel a little cheated. The story had at least two more books. Not sure if the author was tired and wanted to try something new... or if he was forced to cut it short. I feel like it was wrapped up to perfectly at the end. What I would have liked is to see the bad girl get away. imagine Kylar struggling to decide to hunt her down or not as she causes chaos. Vie would be faced wit finding a way to kill her only friend. Dorean would struggle between the madness and trying to find a way to separate the goddess and Eline. Now that could have been awesome 4th book.
I loved this series but I felt like the ending was rushed and I don't like when books end like that. other than that it was a fun series and I would recommend it to a friend for sure...
