Although the first book was relatively slow and was hard to get into, I'm glad I stuck with the series. The series was amazing and the third book was definitely the best.
I was in awe with the addition of new characters and concepts that seemed there was no way the conclusion of the series was near at hand. The glossing over some details near the end was a product of those additions, but the story was still a good one. Great ending too! Sad for it to be over.
Rev Kitten Stomper
I don't get Brent Weeks... some of his material is so great, but then he keeps side-tracking into these unnecessary and uncomfortable sexual interludes. It really detracts from the plot.
I like trilogies as I know I will not have to wait ten years for the ending, but it is bitter sweet when it is over. These characters have more to say than was given to them. All the struggle to get to where this ended, and all we get is a quick peek at what costed them all so much to acquire. It was a wonderful story worth the read. I also like how some thing happen in both of his book series, some may say it is lazy righting, but I like seeing the inspiration for an event being so good he made it happen twice.
1rst and second book were the best in this series. 2nd book annoyed me with Elleen and kylars romance. At least in this book they improved on it.
