Motivating, informational, transformative.
In a league of its own. No other audio book has come close to this except maybe, Thank You Economy.
His enthusiasm and no B.S. style.
Yes and did so more than once.
Gary has lived the strategies explained in Crush-It. He explains how social media is different from advertising in print or TV. Then he outlines how to use social media to do what you love doing. It is clear and convincing.
I listened to
Gary is over the top. But his message is so convincing that it was enjoyable.
Hi story about the Jets sweater vest.
Yes. The author reads the book and he is very entertaining to listen to. He often goes off script so it sounds like you are listening to a podcast, not a book.
While it does have good advice the best part of this book is how he gets you excited about following your dreams.
I have not listened to any others. I assume they would be similar.
I wanted to go start a business and had to remind myself that it is not as easy as he makes it seem.
If you like business self help books that are like cheerleaders then listen to this one. Anyone who liked Four-Hour work week will like this.
The author/reader is a deeply unagaging character, as filled with a sense of his own
Almost anyone would have been a better presenter than the gentleman chosen. His manic manner of speech was truly annoying and distracting in extremis. Whatever his day-to-day presentational style, when speaking to his regular listeners, I found him absurd, bording on offensive. He delivered every word - from pithy insight to chapter number (yes, literally) - with equal urgency of tone and insistence of volume: all as if denying paedophilia or confronting a war criminal.
This book is not the declarative work of genius the author might appear to think. That said, more than six years into running my own business, I did find a couple of interesting ideas at which I shall be looking.
Initially, I was put off having never heard of Gary Vaynerchuk before picking up this audiobook on title value alone. It seemed to resonate in my mind. The thank you thank you routine in the first few minutes annoyed me but what I came to realize by the end of the book is that this is who Gary really is at heart. Which might explain the title of his next book (which I am currently enjoying tremendously), The Thank You Economy.
If you are thinking about changing how you live and do business, this book is a MUST READ. I found his straight shooting narrative to be well worth incorporating into my business plans. What I found to be of even more value as the book progressed was his unique take on narrating his own book. He adds value to his audiobook by mentioning what may have changed since he wrote the book and he explains other topics in more detail, because that is how he rolls as he put it.
I think the title says it all. CRUSH IT! is a passionate advocate for rethinking how you "DO" what you do for a living. I have bookmarked this audiobook, (a great feature by the way and kudos to the Audible team for developing it), and revisited it numerous times. He lays out a clear plan of action at the end of the book and is clearly an expert in this arena! Gary also articulated well the subheading, "Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion" and more importantly he convinced me.
Thank you Gary this book Rocks and so do you!
Yes, I think that the book has personal growth potential.
A person who like to talk straight
Yes to work on my blog and make it much better.
Keep pushing Gary and thanks for Crush it
I listened to 'Crush It' twice in a row. Yes, Gary is on the obnoxious spectrum, but it's such a genuine, up-beat, energizing obnoxiousness that I think he needs his own word.
Obvaynerchuxiousness...okay, I'll work on it.
Practical advice and simple clarity in a realm where pretender social media gurus just keep on spouting jargon at us.
Thank you, Gary, my favourite obnoxious American, for telling me EXACTLY what I need to do to build my brand.
you will definitely get some new ideas while listening to this book. great for getting the creative juices flowing. Quite possible that you will begin a new journey or get closer to completing and old one while listening to this book. His enthusiasm is contagious and you will certainly feel like burning some midnight oil while digesting this material. Highly recommend it. I think this review has got me to go listen to him again.
I like how he speaks from the heart about doing business, it is also always great to hear from someone's actual experience. This book is a real motivator.
Authentic to the fullest!
The reason for the success of not only the book but of Gary's career is the man holds nothing back.
In the age of Social CEO's taking charge this book helps you take a step toward the right direction.
