I have listened to this book at least 5 times over the years and I get something new every time. It is an amazing way to get fired up with enthusiasm if you are wondering how to capitalize on your passions.
Crush It is great for startups the way that Michael Gerber's Emyth is. Both remind us of why we started our businesses in the first place and help to frame a way to grow them with integrity and passion.
Oh my gosh...Gary's reading so eclipses the book! His vibrant style and going "off script" add to the polished book by showing real world examples that didn't make the cut during editing.
I tend to listen to it over the course of a day or two at the most. I hurry to listen because of the great info that Gary shares.
The only complaint that I hear regularly is that Gary doesn't tell you how to find your passion. That there should be some way for him to let you know what you should do with the crush it model. Of course no one can tell you what your passion is. You need to figure that out yourself. There are some great hints about how to go about it, but at the end of the day it is only the listener who can know what they should do.
I do 98% if my reading via audio now; I am so grateful for this medium. But let's face it- some books are a struggle to listen to for various reasons . Gary Vaynerchuck crushes it with this one! The content, the delivery, the passion- it's all great.
If Gary is anything, he is passionate. Great book, packed with plenty of material for those looking to expand their social media pursuits.
I wish I read this a long time ago!
Every chapter is great!
It's motivating, insightful, very real and gives practical steps to get you moving toward your passion.
Keep them coming Gary!!
This is my new "worst" book in my library, I do not know how Audible let this one sneak through. The author is a poor presenter who CONSTANTLY says "I am now talking off script..." the audible book is more of a rant than a reading of a book. Dear Audible you sell audible versions of books, not rants.
In Chapter 1 when the author has one of his verbal run ons "I think for my next book, I will write something on contradictions..." It had nothing to do with the book I thought I bought. That was it, STOP, REMOVE FROM DEVISE. I drove in silence rather than hear any more of it.
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK
Read the book he wrote at least I might have listened to it. Some authors should NOT read their own work, this is one of those times.
One of the many great readers that I trust Audible to read a book as it was written.
I bought a book not a rant.
BAD BOOK but I blame Audible. How was this produced, it should have NEVER gotten past the producer?
Gary is funny, no nonsense and visionary in his delivery. If you want to see what the future could to look like for you and your business this is a must read.
Yes even though this book was written about 56 years ago it's timeless send the principles Gary shares will apply in 20 years from now but also it gives you perspective as to what was then and what is now read a good book I had heard of it never read it to now I'm glad I did
Short book. liked authors passion. Slightly dated because social media evolves fast. No original ideas. just enforcing what I'd consider common sense these days. probably more valuable if read few years ago before social media was norm
