Keeps you guessing and on your toes throughout the entire book
Any of the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child. They have a very similar creative mind and writing style.
Just can't pin any one scene down. It was all great!
Yea from beginning to end.
It's one of the best...completely gripping!
I enjoyed the battle between the brilliance of good and evil.
He is able to "cast" a character through changes in his voice and able to step out of the "narrator's" position...as an external force, and get deep into your mind!
The fact that it kept me guessing till the end.
Drew. She was so strong and real.
gave it more depth
yes, but read the unabridged addition and way to long to do that in.
There is nothing more entertaining than to listen to a book while doing chores. Always have one going.
this book has a great premise. Online sex. Although I enjoyed the book, I was tired of listening by the end. Finished but was not interested in the outcome. About 4 hrs. too long.
I didn't like MORTAL FEAR. I have found many of Iles' books brilliant, extraordinarily well-researched, coherent and gripping (Black Cross, Spandau Phoenix, Blood Memory and Dead Sleep). While MORTAL FEAR had its moments, it wasn't as good as his other books (imo). Somehow the incestuous relationship underlying the serial killer's history didn't explain much of the killer's pathology except as the origin of his hemophilia and therefore the focus of his medical "research." Yes, Harper Cole (hero) is a commodities trader (I know a fair amount about commodities so was really looking forward to the book) but it explained nothing except how Harper earned a lot of money to get back his family's estate (which does reveal that Mr. Cole is a talented highly ethical person). EROS is well-designed credible and very interesting. I don't regret listening to MORTAL FEAR but I multi-tasked while reading this book (which I do in general) but I was only motivated to go back and listen again to those parts when I had no idea of what was happening. I expect more from Iles, which may be why I'm so negative about MF.
The reader killed this book for me. I could not stand to listen to him, and after trying to get thru the book, gave up after the second download. This book was a costly mistake!
