The NLP processes are good and I have used them quite a bit, but this audio version simply got me motivated to buy other books. I don't use the audio as much as the books I bought, since I find it is really necessary to have the NLP processes written out to use them effectively. I found I wasn't able to process as fast as the audio goes through them. I did transcribe some of the processes and I have used them that way.
Happy to see the Richard Bandler is making NLP easier to understand , and I think this is first book that he has written this type .
i am not sure, i expected a much better delivery from this author. i value his expertise, but the audio is missing vital information from the book and pace and monotonic voice make it hard to follow through.
monotinic voice. Vital information missing from book. hard to follow concepts.
I wish there was a Source for some of the pages he asks you to look at for reference. Not the best listening book. Better for reading
I was skeptical when I first began to listen to this book but it soon took me by surprise with the ready and concise steps delivered without any coy restraint on how to change your perspective by going through the mental exercises for the listener to try.
Before I knew it I was taking notes, going back and listening again. The techniques DO work and they ARE simple. They author is a genius who was blessed with the ability to relate his concepts without fluff or pomp. Well delivered by the narrator. I've heard the author speak and he's quite charismatic but the narrator did an excellent job of reading the book for him. Have already recommended it to family, which takes a lot of nerve, so the techniques must work!
Is it just me or does the narrator's mock-cheerful voice make this audiobook hard to listen to right from the get-go? The way he swaggers through a description of rape and trauma in his compassionless Kasey Kasem voice took me out of the book completely. I really wanted this to be good. I did. But I don't feel the narrator does the author justice at ALL. Please consider that my review is based on the insincere impression the narrator has left on me and the fact that his voice rendered me unable to actually access the content of Bandler's work. I just wish I'd bought the actual book instead because I'm sure it's really very good.
it was great and I will need to listen to this multiple times. there is just one thing after another of very useful actions and suggestions.
Phenomenal book, I started doing the exercises in the accompanying workbook (found on the library page), and am amazed at how much control we really do have over our own minds. Highly recommended.
I love this subject, but had a difficult time listening to it. The narrator sounded snarky and sarcastic to me. I thought I could tolerate him but I became very uncomfortable when the subject matter was serious or sensitive. He simply sounded insensitive, sarcastic or flippant. I just couldn't tolerate his narration. Perhaps I will buy the book in text.
