I love to read mysteries, histories, biographies, humor, and Jane Austen.
I'm not sure why I bought this, because I'm not the target audience (I'm in my 50's, but this book is clearly for young adults). That being said, I enjoyed the story quite a bit. The two-narrator presentation was good, although Blas Kisic sounded a little old for the part. The story has some intense scenes that are better for young adults over the age of 16 or 17 - but I also don't think this book would interest kids much younger than that, since it doesn't feature wizards or mythical creatures.
I found the book good but its hard to rate something like this after reading Bryce Courtney or Tolken... entertaining but not riveting.
Loved it! I really enjoyed this story of two people overcoming obstacles despite being from different social backgrounds. Love conquers all! Definitely of perfect chemistry.
Yes I would, I liked the story. It seems like a predictable plot, but there are twists.
Romeo and Juliet I guess. Or any other story of forbidden love.
I liked alex's character the most. Blas Kisic's voice it nice and I found Roxanne's voice a little annoying at first but I got used to it.
When Shelly praised Britney for standing up to their parents.
I liked the book much more than I thought I would. Just a warning that there is some harsh language, so if that bothers you, you might be offended in some parts. I loved the idea that the main characters are connected even though they come from completely different worlds.
The female narrator was very bad. I probably wouldnt waste a credit on this if I had it to do over.
Author should have used a different male narrator. There is absolutely no way i could tolerate listening to this male point of view.
should NOT have used this male narrator.
DO NOT PURCHASE this audiobook!
I struggled to listen to this and know I would have enjoyed it much more if I just read it.
A modern day Romeo and Juliet of sorts.
The female narrator portrayed the teenage girls as if they were 10 years old. The story was written better than how she voiced them. The male narrator was good.
Not worth my listening time, but a good story to read.
after reading the description of the story and it being read by 2 readers - I wasn't sure, but within the 1st 2 chapters I was hooked and did not want to stop listening. The readers were VERY good with accents and the story was very enjoyable. I LOVED the characters and am looking forward to listening to the other 2 stories about Alex's brothers.
I liked the story, but the female narrator was terrible. It was like listening to a middle aged Jan Brady trying to sound like a teenager. UGGHHH!
At first the narrator for Brittany's voice really rubbed me the wrong way... as if she were trying too hard to sound like a teenager. But eventually, I grew used to her voice, reading style and inflection and it didn't bother me at all. I reallly liked hearing Alex's voice read by someone who speaks Spanish; he did a great job. The topics in this book aren't light and there were times that I thought the plot would become too predictable and "cheesy" but I felt the author did a good job of tackling a lot of issues with sincerity.
