Reading is a must-have ESCAPE...
With the exception of the relationship with Bastion's character in "...On Top", I consumed this edition in the series at lightening speed. It was enjoyable enough to keep me preoccupied while doing some landscaping. Unfortunately, the ending left the reader a bit hollow. I was shocked the book was already finished and even more surprised with how Mead opted to end it. Then again, I rushed to purchase the next installment... "Heat."
The ending SUCKS. Maybe realistic, but still depressing. Georgina finally decides she's going to let Seth make his own choice... and have sex with him... then, OMG... he breaks it off and gets involved with her friend? It's really hard NOT to feel sorry for Georgina. After many promises, Seth breaks her heart (or the Succubi' equivalent). Though Carter is beginning to grow on me.
There is something so compelling about Richelle Mead's writing. There is depth in her characters, humor in her dialog, and surprises around the corners.
I can't wait to read the next one.
Nurse, mom, loved to read....but now I love to listen. When I retire I hope to hear waves crashing in 1 ear and audible in the other!
The storyline was good as well as the continued story of Georgina and Seth. Most characters are continued throughout the story and also a few new ones. I am anxious to continue on with the series and hope things look up for Georgina!
This is a book that stands on its own.....a modern day succubus trying to live a normal life.
The development of the relationship between Georgina and Seth, it's pretty significant in this book....I look forward to discovering what happens but I don't want the series to end. I love Georgina.
There are several humerous events throughout the story and I did tear up in the end. I feel so bad for Georgina.
It's a good book but the direction it took with Seth really pissed me off and broke my Heart. I hoping it turns around.
she always find herself in difficult situation, but get out of it.
when found out who was behind the problem.
the all book,it's make me laugh and cry.
yes I couldn't let go.
This is not urban fantasy, which I love. This is just a romance novel. I listened to the first two books, and they were kind of meh, but this third one - ugh. The main character has been, throughout, a bit of a pollyanna even without considering that she is a 2000 year old demon. In this last book, she has also evolved into being self-absorbed and full of angst. I stopped listening, because I just don't care about her or her world. For example, one of the characters decided to start taking risks and signed up for a self-defense class because it was the 'craziest' class she could think of. Really?? And the main character dreams of having a child and living in a house with a porch. Mixed with the bland sex scenes and the passive aggressive relationship, I felt like I might as well go watch the Real Housewives.
The book was a bit of everything. It made me feel happy and very sad at the end. The author did a good job with drawing me into the book. I have high hopes for the main charactor.
I read far more books with my eyes than my ears, but Elizabeth Rodgers does such a superb job with this series that I am not even tempted to go out and buy the print book; I want to hear the story in her "Georgina" voice. Mead's beguiling succubus makes a great first-person narrator (usually not a favorite for me).
Each book in this series gets better and better.
Beware, there are alot of up and downs. Which makes it even better.
I like the world building and intrigue of this series, but the relationships are annoying. Georgie and Seth bicker constantly throughout this book and at times seem to have very little respect for on another.
Sure, her books are not awful, just not great.
Matter of fact
Probably not, the books are already a bit to chick-lit for my taste. I know that Hollywood would probably strip the intelligent parts out and it would result in another stupid romcom.
