"If you liked the story then go ahead."
I've personally never enjoyed the written version of A Christmas Carol. For some reason I've just never gotten into the writing and I was hoping that as an audiobook it may finally catch my attention. Unfortunately Tim Curry's soothing voice only added to my boredom, and I found his attempts at a female voice grating. If you are however a fan of the story and a fan of Tim Curry then by all means purchase this audiobook. Otherwise I'd suggest saving your money and opting for the various movie productions of this classic tale.

"I never knew the original story was so boring"
Tim Curry does a nice job of reading this book. But I found the original story to be too boring to stick with.
"Good but..."
it could have been better. I must confess that I've read A Christmas Carol every Christmas season since I was in 6th grade nearly 20 years ago. So I'm not positive that any reading could live up to the way it sounds in my head.
I was looking forward to this one because curry does such a beautiful job in other readings (Series of Unfortunate Event books and Peter Pan) playing the humor of the narrator.
I've always read the narrator in A Christmas carol as similarly playful. Curry's reading was drier. It was a solid reading but I would have liked a narrator closer to the Muppet Christmas Carol.
"Heavy going"
Hadn't realised this was in prose. Myabe it's better if you read (study) it yourself ...
