I could not wait to hear the interview with Kathryn Stockett. This was my favorite book and I really wanted to hear her perspective and intentions when she started writing "The Help"
I heard a good book today!
This interview helped me deciding book purchase.Great interview and the book in in my library now.
The different voices made it seem like masterpiece theater.
Well done. We listened to this in the car on a road trip. It made for great discussion with my family. My teenage girls had a chance to digest the book before watching the movie.
What a nice touch to have an interview posted and available to listen to. I enjoyed the book and movie. Glad to hear about the author
If you have already read the book, the interview will be interesting. If not, you'll be lost. She asks a lot of questions about specific characters and plot lines. She doesn't give away a lot (which is good) but doesn't ask a lot of questions to introduce a new reader to the book.
This interview let's in more than it should, giving away part of the end of the book. My advice is get the book first!
Born, raised, and live in Hawaii. Married with one cat. My favorite way to drive my car is to listen to a great audiobook at the same time. Addicted to the Pendergast novels of Preston and Child. Also love autobiographies narrated by the author, usually a celebrity of some sort.
around the middle, considering it is a recording of an interview over the phone.
If you love the book The Help, you should be interested in the interview with the author.
Have already listened twice; I found the insight re: "The Help" fascinating, and was moved and impressed by the author's commitment to authenticity and integrity in the telling of that story (and presumably any other writing or speaking she does).
I will almost certainly listen again, either before (finally) seeing the movie or afterwards.
I always like to read about the creative process, but I especially enjoyed this. My next reading of the book (or watching of the movie) will be further enriched by having listened to this, and I'm now even more interested in reading anything else Ms. Stockett may write in the future.
Best is the narration level.
She patiently gave multiple reviews
yes. i will try another title as well.
