It is close to being that, but just didn't quite make it for me. I loved the previous mystery, but this one kept nagging at me -- specifically with the improbable and perhaps not so fully understood -- reunion with a woman he had known five years ago. I kept thinking she was in on the whole thing. Heck, maybe in a subsequent book, I'll find out she was. I couldn't quite focus on this. I listen through the night due to physical huge injury that keeps me waking up. This book just didn't motivate me to back up my mp3 player and find the right place to continue listening. I think I heard it all, but sigh, I felt that the end was impossible, even though it is a mystery and the ending is to be unexpected. I wanted the next book to pick up where Coyote left off. I guess I need to take a small break from Connelly. I'll be back though, because I know of noone else that provides such a good character, except all those that I have already read!
"Love Michael Connelly's books. This is no exception. I will read the rest of the Harry Bosch books."

You think you know which way it's going, but you're wrong. Bosch repeatedly gets the carpet pulled out from underneath him, and he keeps getting up. The discouraging thing is that it takes very little effort, just moments, for the bad guys to commit some heinous crime but it takes extreme excruciating effort to bring them to justice.
Solid Bosch, great story, great series. The Harry Bosch character is outstanding. If your looking for a series to get into, the Harry Bosch series Will not Disappoint. Highly recommend for those looking for good solid character driven cop series
the story telling was good. Dick Hill is a classic reader. Not a bad story, just didn't like it as well as others.
A great combination Bosch and Hill. I love the series and am up to book 9. Very hard to put my phone down and makes the drive to and from work easier.
I could barely get through this book. The crime scenarios are becoming more ridiculous and the romantic side plots are nauseating. Love the character of Bosch, but I'm done with the books.
