Excellent format for learning - phrases sung to little tunes. I have difficulty remembering any word, English or Spanish, until I know how to spell it. So, a little research in a dictionary and making word lists to go with each lesson was necessary for me. But each lesson was perfect for my commute to work.
I wish I had read what "Jill from Pittsburg" said before I purchased this book. Her experience and impressions are nearly identical to mine. Sorry to drag down the average, but this book was not very helpful in teaching me more Spanish.
After I read John Grisham's "The Broker" I decided that I wanted to learn a language. This book was a great first step. It was so fun that even my kids joined in.
The audio is nice in that it puts phrases to the tempo of music and makes them easy to repeat. However, it doesn't cover how the sentences can be changed or discuss how the verbs are used. I preferred learning spanish like crazy as I seem to get more out of it. Just my 2 cents.
I speak intermediate Spanish and still found this audio program useful. It helped refresh my memory with some old words and still gave me a little challange. However, I wouldn't EVER want anyone to hear me listening to these queso songs, but I guess that's why it's perfect for the solo drive.
I am really having fun with this!!! And, the words are sticking in my memory, which is great. I could care less if it's cheesy, it works and the songs help me remember and recall how to say things. And the story keeps me engaged.
They really need to make Rush Hour Spanish 2!!!
