This is the best audible program for learning Spanish except for the 150 dollar product that is also very excellent. If you listen to this a few times you will memerize the songs and easily memerize the phrases. I wish there were more.
This book was and is terrific. There are many, myself included who have difficulty learning languages though reading or general audio'. This book makes learing basic Spanish fun and enjoyable. Its often easier to remember a song tune and words than words alone. If you like learning with music than this book is definately the one for you.
This is a fun way to learn some basic conversational Spanish, but you'll have to download the guide to understand exactly what they are saying. M sounds like N for example. You will also have to listen to it multiple times to learn everything, but with the music, that's fine. You won't learn grammar and tenses, and how to construct your own sentences, but for a crash course that's fun to listen to in your car, or on your iPod, I would recommend it.
I am surprised this product got good reviews.
I found 2/3 of the songs to be corny and unsingable.
If you want to be taught by people who speak clearly and at a pace slow enough to understand, this is not the product for you.
Initially, I want to say that if you don't like musicals, then do not purchase this audio book. There were parts of this book where I had to take off my headphones b/c the singing was so annoying. There were other times where the singers hit such a high note that you cannot understand what they are saying in Spanish. Also, this book turns from a Spanish learning book into a love story, which really blew me away.
On the positive side, there was some helpful content in this book, but you will find that there were periods of 2-3 minutes before you hit helpful material again. Also, there is a ton of repetition in this book, and repetition is very helpful when learning a new language.
I was excited to buy this book based on the other reviews. I thought I could brush up on my limited espanol and expand my vocabulary. After listening to a CD full of Sesame Street-style, hoky music tunes, I opted to give it a little more time, as it did refresh my memory of how to translate colors, office supplies, clothing, and some other basic vocab.
Once the audiobook moved on to new vocabulary, though, I was in trouble. The garbled music tunes may have catchy melodies, but if you haven't learned the Spanish words they're using, you can't tell what they are saying. I would rather have a boring CD with someone E-NUN-CI-AT-ING the unfamiliar language. It was like trying to figure out the words to La Bamba without the sheet music: "baraballa la bamba! Sayeseita arrriba arriba!!!" Right?!
Do yourself a favor and buy a textbook so you can see the words, or find an audiobook that is less fun and more educational.
Excellent review or starter for anyone wishing to enhance the little Spanish that one might have contact with. Very catchy tunes, verses, & useful sentence structures for everyday Spanish.
Speaking was too fast with annoying voices. Limited scope of language covered creating a significant gap in ability to have a conversation. Did not cover the primary phrases needed to interact or survive in a Spanish speaking culture.
Would not order any future books
Would have trouble leaving any
If you go to a country where you need to speak the basic language to survive this is not the book. Did not indicate some basic tasks such as how to ask for bathroom... how much...
An awesomely easy way to absorb Spanish words, phrases, and sentences! They pop into my mind at appropriate moments -- and I didn't even know I was learning them. All I did was repeatedly play for myself the musical "lessons" of this audible book.
