Love this series but didn't love Anna Fields' narration. Her pronunciation of 'Rizzoli' drove me nuts. She does a great job on the Susan Elizabeth Phillips novels but I don't think this is her genre. Otherwise, great story.
I really enjoy both the book and the T.V. series although the only thing they have in common are some of the names of the characters. If you are looking for a great mystery I would recommend this book. It kept my attention to the point I really didn't want to quit listening to it. The reader does not detract from the story with too much acting...in fact if there is anything that could be better, it would be a little (very liitle) bit more fluctuation in the voice. Another great story by Tess Gerritsen.
Yes, I enjoy Tess Gerritsen books, but hated Anna Fields and her attempt at different voices.
I would recommend the book in hard copy; not on Audible.
No, absolutely not. I couldn't even finish listening to this one! Wish I would return it.
My name is Diane Heine not Larry Bruce.
Prob not. Don't care for redos. Don't find the voice of Anna fields easy to listen to.
The footless girl The nun
Did not like.
I hate that Rizzoli is pronounced ritzoli.
I love Tess Gerritsen..............and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I am tired of books with unbelievable concocted endings and this one tied everything up for a reasonable conclusion.
She did a great job with all the characters.
Anna's pronunciation of Rizzoli has a "t" in it. It is not Ritzoli!
I liked best the building up of the characters. I liked least the Narrator. Horrible. She makes Maura sound so stuffy and stale. Sheesh! I am forcing myself to listen to the rest. This is a must read, do not listen if you can't get past boring speak.
I love Tess's books, they are always a good read. I have listened to many of her books out of order so I have gotten used to better narrator's who clearly understand the characters, so I feel as if I know them and how they are supposed to sound. This Narrator, was OMG!!! sooooo boring, I was actually pissed that she totally had Maura's voice all wrong. She made her sound like a stale, unattractive, old lady, with a chip on her shoulder. The description of Maura and the voice were sooooo different. Other narrators from other Rizzoli and Isles books made her sound beautifully smart, yet very book wise, shy, quiet, but strong willed. I am actually still in the middle of this book. I don't think it is the best of the Rizzoli Series, simply because this is an earlier one where her characters lives, Maura and Jane's are really being built up, whereas other books are really and truly about the mystery of the murder, that's ok though, and actually if you read them in order it will be fine, remember I know more about the characters than I should while reading this book.If you are a Rizzoli and Isles fan and you haven't read this yet, READ it, if you listen to it you will be thoroughly upset. I will force myself to listen to the rest.I love the way Tess build upon each character in each book. I started out with Ice Cold, Awesome book and narrator, then Body Double, then Silent Girl which is the absolute BEST EVER and the latest. Then I realized, hey you are reading them out of order. The only reason it matters is because her main charaters lives are built up with each novel and new characters are introduced. Anywhoooo... that is my 2 cents. Oh Oh and just a side note, I can't really get into the TV show just yet because Hollywood has changed the characters up too much for me, well Maura that is. Jane is almost just as I pictured her, love that actress, but the other one is well, just not Maura :-)Enjoy Yall!
Tanya Eby is an Awesome Narrator for Tess's Books. She has the characters spot on.
Only if they didn't change the characters like they did in the TV show.
this was an excellent story line. Tess Gerritsen is an exciting writer but the narrator was terrible. The men's voices sounds dead and plugged up. If you can get past that, the book was really good.
If it was a real paper book I would call it a page turner. I did not want to go into work because this book makes me want to sit in my car and listen.
