Retired RN with 28 years in the operating room. An nurse educator specialized in surgical lasers and high risk equipment. Married for 36 years to my wonderful wife and mother of 3 men. Still waiting on the grand babies! While waiting, love to read & listen to books. I am a HUGE FAN OF AUDIBLE. COM!
Absolutely! In most cases audio books are better because of the voices put to the characters and if the narrator is really good, like this one, can also give the read a certain pace of excitement to the story.
Everything! What a great listen! I was particularly interested in the way the author used the factful sinking of a ship and family ties to weave an extraordinary story that keeps your attention to the end.
This is tough to answer, but probably the ending was the best.
Romantic and packed with action! Or, Who will win and who will lose?
I haven't written many reviews, but I was compelled to write one for this really fun and exciting book! Three Fates is one of the best of many, many books I have listened to.
I love Nora Roberts .. yet this book is so boring I can't even make it beyond the first part. I have give up on it and bought another book. Very surprising for Norra's work.
but nice enough. Kept my interest.
Three people meet and fall in love with three others, which makes six for the group trying to locate three antique silver statues. A bad guy and thugs are the main enemy. An elaborate plan is set in place. There is some fun girl bonding among the three women.
I loved one scene where shy, nervous, hypochondriac Tia was planting bugs in the bad guy’s store. Bad guy confronts her. Tia is fumbling and nervous, but decides to use it and plays up her nervousness. Bad guy is impatient wanting to get Tia out of the store and takes Tia to the office. There Tia secretly plants another bug.
Bernadette Quigley is excellent. She used a pleasant Irish accent for four characters. She had a great accent for the female bad guy Anita – sneering, condescending, snake-like. She also had a very good general narration style. I was impressed enough to look up other books she narrated.
Genre: romantic suspense
It is not a very pleasant listen. I usually enjoy Nora's books, but this book is just erratic, kind of all over the place. Roughly hewn. Since I'm a fan, I will of course listen to another.
Dialogue. I never thought I would say this about one of her books. The dialogue Is so rugged in this book.
I don't think the narrator is at fault (although she does seem to pause at some awkward moments and stumble over some words.) I have a feeling it's the material she has to work with.
All of the female love interests. I cannot tolerate any of them. Their character traits are cartoonish. I found myself chuckling during supposedly serious scenes.
Another suspense novel with a romantic twist. The reader does a great job with all characters giving them their own distinct personality.
I love WWII fiction & time slip stories. I teach in a Christian high school & love to share books w/ my students!
One of my favorite audiobooks. Bernadette Quigley did a great job with the Irish accents. Made this great story even more enjoyable!
I'm addicted to audiobooks, particularly thrillers and erotic reads. I'd love for you to follow my reviews!
It took me a while to get into this book, but I wound up liking it pretty well by the end. This story is steeped in symbolism and filled with threes and the theme of FATE. Roberts takes an Irish family and finds mates for each of them as they rush around trying to unite the three fates (statues). It's mildly entertaining with an intriguing villain, well fleshed out characters, and a caper type ending. A pleasant romance that, once it gets going, will help you pass some hours. Wonderful narration. Recommend for fans of romantic suspense.
