THE BEST PART OF THIS BOOK WAS THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS AND THEIR PAST. OVERALL NOT MY FAVOURITE NORA ROBERTS BOOK BUT STILL WORTH LISTENING TO .
Tell us about yourself!
I found my first Nora Roberts book too far into the romance category. Based on that, I didn't plan to buy any more. Somehow I bought this one on a sale. My opinion took an about face.
This is an entertaining and easy listen. The bits of history and mythology seem accurate. The attempts to acquire the three fates by several parties and their tactics fit well with current technology and global travel. The romances are secondary to the quest.
The narration flows well, the characters are distinctly different, and the pace is well timed.
I haven't heard this narrator before. I liked her and would listen to other books she narrates but I can't say she was one of my favorites...yet.
I loved the story, as I love to read/hear Nora Roberts.
I enjoyed the way six people were drawn together and bonded by "fate".
No. Her Irish accent and her speaking so fast made it difficult for me to hear the words and I had a hard time differentiating which of the characters were speaking. I had to continually rewind and re-listen to be able to follow the story line.
It is a good book. Perhaps with a different narrator, I might have enjoyed it more.
Enjoyed the story. Norah Roberts always entertains. The narrator, Bernadelle Quigley was wonderful. I could listen to her all day. In fact I'm going to listen again just to hear the Irish. A lovely cast of characters.
The story line was too slow for me. Faster pace, more interesting characters.
Just too slow!!
She did just fine.
This book had an interesting plot, but just so hard to get through.
I love Nora Robert. This book was a little difficult to get into. At one point I almost started over because I was so confused! But once I figured out all the people it was a good book.
Not a bad story but nothing to get your blood boiling. Nora Roberts is always a reliable read but I prefer the "In Death" series for audio.
Yes, there are some great saucy scenes as well as some intellectual stimulation for all the academics out there...I always wonder whether it is true...I must look that up one day...Hmm.
The book is about the legendary 3 fates that people are unsure whether they really exist, but when they are bought together they have a special power. Well the fates obviously put the fates of the right people in the right place for things to happen. What I like about Nora Jones books, the other one being The Witness, is that while they satisfy my intellectual craving for a good listen where I can learn something new, they also have a couple of good saucy scenes that are always good for anyones appetite!
the narrator did a wonderful job with the accent. she is the perfect narrator.
the love interests became predictable towards the end but all in all a great story!
