As a mother of very young children, I'm always on the hunt for books that interest me, yet are kid friendly. (no cussing, vulgarity, etc) The Artemis Fowl books are wonderful. Yes, they are technically children's books, but they definitely have enough depth and plot to interest adults. The narrator does an excellent job, and is one of the few I really enjoy. Humorous, well-written and narrated- you can't go wrong with this series.
After finishing the Harry Potter audiobook series (with the fantastic narration by Jim Dale), I was hoping to find anything as similarly engaging. While this series is not as deep or complex, its certainly fun, exciting and highly entertaining. The narration by Nathaniel Parker is outstanding. I was hooked into Mr. Colfer’s world and felt a pang when the 5th audiobook ended. However, unlike the HP series, there is more still more Artemis Fowl to come, and I greatly look forward to the forthcoming 6th installment!
This is a wonderful addition to the story of Artemis Fowl and his adventures with the fairy people. All of our favorite fairies and humans return to make this a perfect addition to the series. This book should be read after the previous books as it builds off of them. I extremely enjoyed this book for its wonderful story line and the plot just keeps on moving.
A fun read, as all of the series are, just don't expect anything terribly deep! Artemis, Butler, and Holly get into their usual sets of scrapes, and a few twists and turns all trying to save the People. It should be noted that the story line has lost a bit of gas since the first couple of installments, though...
The audible recording was great. I love the reader's voice. This was not our favorite book, but hope that they are introducing new characters to the storyline. True Artemis fans will not be disappointed!
My sons and i have enjoyed all of the Artemis Fowl books and this was no exception. Always clever and fun. Narration was excellent as well.
Great book. I've really enjoyed the series. The narrator is fantastic with different ascents for each caricature. I'm not a child but love the story line, great fun. Always had a thing for the fairy people. (Must be the Irish in me). I wish they would make them into movies!
