I saw Twilight in the theater and liked it so I thought I would give the book a try. I couldn't quite understand how they were so passionately in love when I saw the movie and I knew the book would give me more details. I was addicted to it, finding myself staying up late night and putting on in the car as much as possible. I really enjoyed it. I ended up seeing the movie again after reading listening to the book. I found that the movie "falling in love" made more sense to me now that I knew what they were thinking. I ended up listening to the next 3 books just to get my "fix" now I'm sad it's over and want more =)
I LOVED this book - and the series. Who knew a vampire story could be sooo good. I listened to the book for 2 days straight and couldn't get enough of it!
I really tried to listen to this. The reader does a good job. But I think it is just too "teenage". I don't mean that as a put down. I think I would have liked this book when I was 16 but I'm over 30 and I just couldn't get through it. I'm giving it 3 stars because I think it is a good book for young readers.
I'm a grown woman (well, in my 20s) and found myself feeling like a teenaged girl reading this book. An hour in, I found I wasn't going to be able to stop until I finished. I even woke up at 5am one day when I knew I wouldn't get any other listening time in that day. Addicting! Loved it.
I couldn't understand why my mother was soooo nuts about this book. Until I listened. Mrs. Meyer writes in such a compelling way that you don't want to put the book down (or turn it off in my case). A great new look on vampires! I highly reccomend it.
Despite being 30 years old, I listened to this book and I am hooked on the Twilight series. I think I am as excited as some of the teens for the movie!
They made a movie out of this book? There are more books on this story line? Why?
This is one of the dumbest stories in the whole history of stories! And I'm NOT kidding!
Well, since we all know the book is fabulous, this review is basically about the narrator. I know that if I don't like the narrator, I won't like the book, no matter how good it is. So, for me, Ilyana was a key element in making this a great audiobook. Her inflections, her emotion, and her restraint is perfect and I can truly visualize her as Bella. Also, I am so glad to see that she is narrating the rest of the series. Too often they change narrators throughout the series and it is difficult to stay focused once you are used to a specific narrator. Anyway, I truly loved the book and I hope to hear more from both the author and the narrator!
