This is exactly the way it needs to be read and proformed, every detail was givin importance in this book and through out the entire Twilight saga audible production.
Didn't think I would like it, the whole Vampire story line. It was a great listen, got the other books before I finish the first. Watch the movies but I preferred the books.
I do not enjoy any part of sitting down and reading a book. My best friend would not stop about how much better Twilight was in book vs. the movie - So she talked me into trying the audio book. I am in love!! It plays right on my phone while I am around the house, in the car, or on break at work. What a great new addiction - And she was SO right, this is tons better than the movie (And I still Love the movie!!)
It's gets quite sappy at times, but the story grips me from the start. This is my least favorite of the saga but I still haven't tired of reading/listening to it.
I think the appeal of these to adult readers starts at book 3. I think Book 1 is a bit overrated by itself. There is little to no plot until the last 1/3 of the book The major mystery up until then is "what os Edward?" and we all know what the answer to that is form the first page, so... let's just say it is a bit dull and derivative for a while.
But books 3 and 4 are really fun and well worth the reading of the first two, slower books. I overall give the sires a 4 star rating, with 3 for 1-2, and 5 for 3-4.
I listened to this book in 2 days, on a road trip. I couldn't stop listening. I was completely drawn in. Yes, the story line is intended for younger readers, but I was swept away to Forks, right along with the characters.
