I have to admitt I was more than a bit skeptical about this series because I have heard if often compared to the Harry Potter books which are brillant. However, the Twilight series defintly lives up to the hype. I felt like Twilight the first book in the series did a great job of portraying the sense of longing that you feel for someone that you begin to fall in love with. During the climax of the story I was on the edge of my seat literally. I really enjoyed this book and I hope if you purchase it you will feel the sanme way. :)
This book has caught my imagination in a surprising manner. I am not normally into science fiction, but this is entertaining and romantic. I am fascinated by vampires...now. GREAT BOOK!!!
Make sure you have time to listen to these books for 12+ hours straight. I couldn't stop listening!!! My school work is suffering because after I listened to the frist (Twilight) I had to download the second and thrid!
I never believed that i could find a book that i would love just as much, if not more than, Harry Potter. it was truly entrancing and an amazingly beautiful story. it had made me lose my appetite and even extremely anxious until i finished all of the up-to-date twilight series. I truly hope the series never ends. I would highly recommend this book for everyone of all ages.
I enjoyed the narration. It took a little getting use to, but she actually did a good job. The story is great, except I find Bella hard to relate to sometimes. She's so helpless at times, and there is a strong undercurrent of co-dependency. I still really like the story, and enjoyed it overall.
I am so sorry to have wasted my money on this book. It is poorly written and very simple. Noone over the age of 14 should read this book. I have only listened to the first half and do not think I will subjuect myself to the second. Please if you are over the age of 14 and curious about all the hype, forget about it, you don't want to hear this book.
My daughter convinced me that this was a worthwhile read. I struggled to get through it! If you take out all the time the main character spends describing her vampire boyfriend's physical attributes the book would be one third the length! Also, for the first three quarters any time spent on dialogue is the same conversation over and over... "you should fear me!" AAGGGHHH! A little action at the end goes nowhere in making up for hours of adolescent rambling. I've read more plot and character development in a Babysitter's Club book! Remember those? Yeah, I know what you're thinking. We were 10 when we read those!!!! If you're an adult, don't waste your time with these books. The author owns a thesaurus. Big deal. Sorry oldest daughter.... no sale.
