Funny and fluffy romantic mystery. I have laughed harder listening to this book than to any other audible book. The narrator uses a lot of different accents and intonations for different characters and does them well (and consistently).
I tried. I really tried to get interested in this book. But I had a really hard time connecting with the main character, who seemed very shallow and at times, even mean. I think it would have been more tolerable if the narrator hadn't voiced the lead male so badly. I found myself looking forward to it being over just so I could move on to another book.
I still love this Author. I had to go back and order the original in the series. I like the wit, humor and the style! Very entertaining!
This was a fun audiobook with snappy dialogue that kept me interested until the end. The finale was a little anticlimactic, but the interactions amongst the characters kept me interested. I already bought the second. Nice, light listening.
Not to impressed. This is pretty light weight, predictable, needs some character development and better dialog. Removed this authors other book from my wish list. Too bad - I like a light read.
I was hoping for another Bubbles or Stephanie Plum, but the heroin is much more reserved. She is smart, and yes there are problems w/her family, love interests gone wrong, a ditsy friend, a trashy one, even a hairdresser, and a cat. Some of the language is a bit harsh (although I suppose it does go w/a bad guy I still don't want to hear or read it). I didn't really start getting interested until about half way through the book, and it ended well. I will read the next installment just to make sure I give the writer a fair chance.
liked it. she was definately inspired by evanovich, but there are worse inspirations. would like to listen to another to see how the characters develope.
I really enjoyed this book. The narrator was pretty good, not great but pretty good, and not distracting to the book. The plot line was interesting and keeps you listening. I did figure out who the killer was about half way through the book but that was a fluke because the reason I thought they were the killer turned out not to be right but they still ended up being the killer anyways. So I think most people will enjoy the book even if they figure out who the killer is early on, I did, and a lot of people might stay guessing till the end. The book is about a mystery writer Sophie Katz who has to find out who is trying to kill her by following the plot of her last book. I would classify this book as Chick Lit Mystery and I am looking forward to starting the next book in the series.
I enjoyed this book very much. Great cast of goofy characters. Narrator does a good job of slightly different voices for the different characters. I'll definitely be getting the other books in this series. If you like Stephanie Plum, you will probably like Sophie Katz.
