Al Gore, who certainly is not a fan of the Bush Administration, provides facts and sources of the conclusions he draws. This is not a hard book to understand, but reader should be open minded and willing to absorb -- although he/she may not like the material being presented. Then again -- just because we don't like what is being presented does not that it's not the truth. Sometimes the truth is very difficult to swallow.
Al Gore has the perspective of an insider and an academic. For those who value the Constitution this is a frightening look at how subtly it can be undermined. This is a cautiionary look at what may be happening to our country and our government at the hands of an administration that has been inclined towards secrecy and deception and has reinterpreted the Constitution for the personal gain of a few. For those who already hold with the progressive and left leaning views of our former V.P. this adds detail to our suspicions. For those on the right...I somehow doubt that it will be read with more than waiting for the speaker to stop so that they can make their argument.
The author certainly knows his facts and figures, but it's certainly depressing to listen to for 10+ hours after eight years of Bush. I mean, MAN is this depressing stuff. People in the current administration should be prosecuted!
