the language, pronunciation - I would never have figured how to pronounce some words, and the accents help you to associate the world with our current world.
Audio HAS to be better than print. The narrator's Scot's accent lends so much to Morin's character and surroundings.
Morin, hands down.
Would LOVE to do in one sitting, but at 26 hours, it isn't humanly possible. As it is, I missed many exits and was late to meetings as I sat in the truck and listened.
It is a rare combination IMO of story and storyteller that compels me to get the rest of the series. Not since the Pern books have I so enjoyed a series/author/narrator.
Narrator's lilting pronunciation of Irish brogue
Wonderful Irish brogue and subtle intonation to indicate emotion
Several--main character's disappointment and sadness when leaving her mother
Way too much sexual content for my tastes
Jim Butchers Codex Alera series. The characters were colorful and easy to dentity with.A lot more sex in Naamah's Kiss, but the story telling was amazing.
No downloading the 2nd in the series now
No, it took place in many settings and countries, but not countries as we know them.
This was a wonderful book. A little too much sex for an old lady, but it fit in the book to help you explore the characters fully.
Very long book - or rather, audible book. Didn't think I would enjoy it but it was a great story. The beginning for me - again, due to not thinking I would enjoy it, felt boring and slow but soon after couldn't wait till the next time I was in my car to continue the story. It's a cross of Skyrim and World of Warcraft but not too much magic. In the end ... very good story. Ending was fine ... wish it continued. Anne Flosnik did a great job voicing the story line. Loved her accent and multiple characters although the voice of the dragon somewhat - only somewhat, annoyed me.
This is the first book that I stopped reading after the first download. Take the sex out and the book would still be boring, just shorter.
It starts out great and I loved the writing. The narrator is great too.
Unfortunately the story degenerated into rather pointless graphic and laughable sexual acts. Naamah's kiss basically means the gift of effing.
I stopped listening to this title halfway into the tale because it seemed like a waste of my time.
It had such potential too; I was disappointed that it took such a turn. I'm no prude, far from it and when I want erotica, I'll purchase from the erotica section. If you want to read about Moirin's sexual education, then you won't be disappointed.
If like me you want some substance you're better off reading something by Robert Jordan or David Eddings.
