I have loved this series until I started reading this book. Usually I do not put my Kindle down when the story is good. This book I had to force myself to finish.
The next in this series . I am hoping this book was a fluke and the series will still capture my interest.
Love audible,"read" & live life. Wish I could review all books..I ❤️ books with a real story line & HEA. Escape reality embrace the journey.
Author can write! Okay thats three words but what I mean is "JR Ward knows how to write a story!"
Hard to pick...so I won't
I think the narrator it good at making the characters individuals.
I wouldn't make a movie it would ruin the book(s)
I read some of the reviews and got a bit scared I would not enjoy this book as much as the others but I have to say I am glad I didn't let my fear stop me. I love that JR Ward actually builds a story, each book has added more and more to the story. It is not just hot and heavy sex but actually has substance, not saying there is no sex but rather that is not the only thing her books are about. You get to know and understand the world the characters live in, their friends, families and coworkers, making the story have depths. I love reading romance stories that have substance and this book along with the others that I have read, give me that. I think reading them in order is really important as they help you understand the whole picture.
Yes, if you are reading the series it will uncover and explain new characters.
This book goes more into the other characters in the series. Giving you a taste of each one, but it did make me lust for more love scenes. This book was definitely not as much of a romance as the others.
The teaser between Blay and Quinn
This book overall was good. It's uncovered new characters and answer questions about old characters. The Arthur prepares you for new series of books to come. But this book has less romance than the other books, leaving you for lusting for more romance.
Dark, Soul Searching, Hauntingly Fantastic
Phury was a great male lead. His whole journey is so sad and seems like the whole world is against him. Too many times I wanted to reach out and hug him
The performance was great, engaging and soothing.
I hated that Phury''s journey was so raw and depressing but he came out on the other side a better man and that is the mark of a true hero. I loved it
passionate reader and vegan
When I first read this Black Dagger Brotherhood book a few years back, I did not like it nearly as much as the others. Recently, I decided to LISTEN to it and BOY am I glad I did. The complexity of Phury's struggle, the number of events that transpire to evolve in future BDB books, Jim Frangione's excellent narration and feel for the brothers, the dramatic change in the whole Chosen system and the ultimate battle between good and evil are at their best in this book. I was not wild about Cormia (the female focus) but that's a small price to pay for such a rich and complex tale. No sense in going into great detail...it's a fabulous listen.
Coitus interruptus (sp) three times?? Really? Phury's Wizard was soooo tiresome after about his second appearance.
The sunshine and butterflies ending with the Chosen at Revenge's camp a month later, fighting to use the vacuum? Puh-LEEZ.
Phury's Wizard got pretty tiresome.
Yes. I plan to finish the series. This one filled in the story.
At least one of the "almost" love scenes between Phury and Cormia.
When the Blackdagger Brotherhood was recommended to me I thought I would not J.R. Ward's Fallen Angels series is very good. I expected it to be funnier after reading The Blackdagger Brotherhood, where the angel is hilarious.like it, based on title alone. I couldn't be more wrong! I instantly fell in love with the books!
Believer in what you can't see
The narrator really makes this story. For some reason this story wasn't quite as interesting as some of the other books. Without the narrator I would have never tried another on of J.R.Ward books.
Corrines transformation. She always want to be an individual and she gets her chance and helps others also get there's. The least interesting was Phury's addiction. I'm glad he gets a hold of it.
Yes, I have heard Frangione narration, and he makes the series, because his voice brings dimension to the story.
The moment that I thought was important was when Quinn was made John Matthews protector and his life was spared after supposedly killing Lash.
The Best Vampire series.
Yes. Great story but twisted in a way, keeps you on the edge of every chapter
How it's not from one person perspective.
All, he changes his voice just slightly when he's talking for different characters. He does a great job.
I laughed and cried, I noticed that if the character was upset and emotional that I was too.
This is one of my favorite books in the series. I think it is because you learn so much about a variety of characters w/o taking away from Phury's story.
It also makes it clear that no matter how perfect a life seems there are always battles we must endure that make us who we are.
