Yes. Great story but twisted in a way, keeps you on the edge of every chapter
How it's not from one person perspective.
All, he changes his voice just slightly when he's talking for different characters. He does a great job.
I laughed and cried, I noticed that if the character was upset and emotional that I was too.
This is one of my favorite books in the series. I think it is because you learn so much about a variety of characters w/o taking away from Phury's story.
It also makes it clear that no matter how perfect a life seems there are always battles we must endure that make us who we are.
Say something about yourself!
I was worried about Jim Frangione being able to stay with the books and SO glad he has. The performance is wonderful, as is the writing. These books make my commute tolerable!
I have listened to all 6 books so far. But I was very disappointed with this book. It was very boring and JR Ward made Phury sound pathetic!!!!!!! I had already downloaded the whole series because I loved the first 3 books. But I hope that going forward the stories are much better than this book. As for the narrator, he really needs to add different voices and continue them throughout the whole series; instead all the males and females have the same voices.
Though Phury is not my favorite Brother, this is an important book with so many side stories that are necessary for future books, and most important, it is the beginning of Qhuinn and Blay!
I have listened to both BDB and Fallen Angel books by J.R.Ward through Audible.com and by far the Fallen Angel series better. The narrator on that series is more animated and has multiple voices. This narrator is just a disappointment.
I liken this narrator to Joe Friday. There are no emotions. He had one voice change for one character... a very poor English accent that he carried over into the narration at times. There was no change from male to female. No excitement, no...anything. After hearing many different narrators I can say with a certainty that Jim Frangione should either take voice and acting lessons or look for other work. I know that sounds harsh, but I hate to pay for sub-par products. If there were a way to get my money back, I would.
If u are into Urban and vampires u will adore this series, this series is not for the faint of hearts, this series is real and roar and will punch u in the face. J.R Ward is the absolute best!!!! And Jim Frangione is the best Narrator in the world!!!! I will listen to any book he is on.
i love to read everyday but audible i love more i can take it to work listen for 8 hr.
I MUST SAY I LOVE THEM ALL OK..
LOVE THEM ALL IN BROTHER HOOD.
CAN'T SAY LOVE THEM ALL.LOVE JIM VOICE BRING THEM TO LIFE.
LOVE TO LISTEN TO BROTHER HOOD.
Great Series, Great Narration.
I really did not like Furys book the first time. I read it in hardback as this did not exist then. He came across as whiney and "oh woah is me".
The second time thru I listened to it. I really listened, and paid closer attention to Furys story and really got A LOT more out of the back story I dont understand drug addiction, but I believe that I have a food addiction, so I related more this time to his "escape". I felt really bad for him and his life and how his parents felt toward him. Cormia was so very healing for him and helped him with the one day at a time stuff and I felt so happy for him this time. He came across as more tortured and in pain, so I got it so much better and it helped me relate to the entire story. Z really knew no other life, so he did not know that he "needed" rescued, and Fury wanted a thanks and envied Z his woman and baby on the way, Fury gave up his younger life to search for and rescue Z, he made the choice and should not have been so jealous, but that is the way of it. That part of this story really moved me.
Man, I love this series, they feel like family. I hate that it takes so long until the next installment, then I devour it way too fast.
You cant go wrong with this series by cash or credit.
