This book was just as entertaining as the past 6. Sookie always finding herself in some sort of trouble. These books are very different from the HBO show True Blood. Moving on to book 8.
I like the long series... i'm invested and I enjoy reading each book a little more because of that.
I started watching True Blood on HBO before reading the books. After season 4 I started reading the books from the beginning. I thought they were OK, I like the show, and the books gave more information about the characters and it was different enough that the show wasn't ruined for me. I found this book to be my favorite. It was more of a mystery/ "who dun it?" than previous books were. It was a little predictable (ok, maybe very predictable), but I enjoyed it very much.
Say something about yourself!
This story was very up and down for me. I was very engaged in parts and part of the time found it annoying to continue on. The level of tragedy and the negativity that was throughout really threw me off.
As usual though, Charlaine Harris' character development is great. I really fell for Quinn and had hopes for a happily ever after for Sookie.
Yes, because it is easy to miss parts of the story
I love Johanna Parker's reading. She does it all so well.
This book had lots of stories to it, many different sub-plots. I really enjoyed the book till I got to the last few chapters, and then I was disappointed by those last few chapters but I am not sure why.
Explosively fun read
I can't choose a favorite character. I mean, I love Sookie because she is strong but has her weaknesses. She is a character with a sense of humor but I think I am beginning to enjoy Eric's character more with every book that is written. He is becoming a complex character.
Johanna Parker brings this book to life. She gives Sookie a voice and personality that I have fallen in love with. I will continue to listen to every single book in the series because Johanna does such a beautiful job with accent and voice inflection.
I listened to this book in 2 days only because I have a 3 month old who needs me to feed and play with him.
I really enjoyed these books. I listen to this series while I work. They are easy to listen to and entertaining enough to help me through a repetitive job. I would recommend and listened to the whole series.
I am a 49 year old male who loves Sookie. Being a life long Dark Shadows fan this series of books is great. It's entertaining, funny, sad. I will admite when it reaches the bedroom I fast forward, but other than that I am enthralled.
Audiobooks are my drug of choice
I'm in love with this whole series. I've listened to all of them -twice. Narration is super. Eagerly awaiting the newest release in May.
The is my favorite book so far in the series. I am unsure how the author keeps coming up with new magical beings, but she does. Of course, you need to read all the books in order to appreciate the supernatural realm. I wonder if we fully know what exactly Sookie is so far. I rate this tale 4 1/2 stars since I can easily see each keeps getting better.
I am a retired Court Reporter and I LOVE books. All kinds of books but my favorites are mysteries and period books. I like civil war books and some biographies.
I love this series. I plan on getting them all and I would highly recommend the series. I love the humor. It is well written and really holds my attention.
