I Love to read and I am all over the place. From Fantasy to Non Fiction to True Crime. Sadly even some Romance novels which I never thought I would read but they turned out to be not bad some even good as long as they had some fantasy in them
Since I have only had it in audio not sure could give a true assessment
Conquered by a Highlander by Nalani Singh. The male main character doing things out of duty the female main character both having their own minds and will not be bullied yet their more primal nature overruling their higher brain functions.
Main male character what woman would not wish a man such as that
Yes very much so once I got into could not stop
Enjoyed it very much cant wait to see where her adventures will take her since she is young yet had things done to her in this book out they come out in the books to come
I didn't read the printed version
Wrath of course
Lots of people complained that his narration came off like he was reading a text book and that there were no interchanging of male and female voices. Jim Frangione grew on me and grew large. I like his voice for this book and because the vampires (the brotherhood) are the main characters in this story, and they are warriors and they are thuggish and full of testosterone ...Jim Frangione's voice embraced all that. I like it when sometimes he moves into another chapter without a pause...it gives me a sense of excitement and that we are moving at a fast pace. I have accepted his voice as the voice of the Brothers..and I am very happy that he is the narrator for the rest of the series.
Dematerialise with Dark Lover
Action, love, exciting.
Beth cuz she is true to who she is. Also not scared to standup for what she believes in.
Couldn't pick one they are all great.
Great book! But not for teens under 16.
♥ Sondra ♥ Mom of 3 ♥ LOVE Vampire Books
I love the the characters, well, let me rephrase, I love MOST of the characters, Wrath being my LEAST fav and Dark Lover being my least fav of the series.
It was okay, kinda typical but okay, it got me interested enough to continue the series....and now I'm hooked!
One Word! LOVE!!! I absolutely LOVE Jim Frangione!!!
Not really, but thats just because I'm not a big Wrath fan. I always envisions Wrath looking like Nathan Explosion from that cartoon Metalocalypse.
DON'T get discouraged reading this book!!! Its just entertaining enough to get you through to the next one in the series, and they only get better, with a few exceptions, but I promise you, you will fall in love with at least 1 of these "Brothers"!!!
I loved this book. I found it hard to put it down. I have all my devices synced so that no matter where I am I can listen. Ward puts so much detail into the characters that you find yourself there with them as they battle for their race, find love and... Make it!!! I have been so enriched by this book my husband actually started with book one. He says any book that makes me smile like this is worth him hearing.... Not to mention the "motivation" in the bed room... Hey what can I say other than you really do FEEL everything the characters are going through. Great series!
I'm a lover of books, both read and audible.
Dark Lover is the first book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood and this book will have you addicted with the first chapter. I love Alpha Male characters and the Black Dagger Brotherhood, delivers that and than some.
Beth is a half-breed that is unaware of her vampire heritage until she meets Wrath the last purebred vampire. The attraction that is sparked is instant. When I first read this book, I wanted more and J.R. Ward doesn’t let you down. She delivers a very well written book with thrills and steamy romance scenes.
Jim Frangione does an excellent job delivering the story in his rich baritone voice. The story is worth a read; Jim makes it worth a listen.
The changes Wrath and Beth make and making the "Brothers" a true family,
When Wrath bathes Beth during her change.
You can hear his voice change with each character - How is he so convincing? I can almost see them in my mind. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The butler is so normal and willing to please in such a bizarre household, it makes me laugh.
This is a must hear series, it doesn't compare to reading it yourself.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
I read this years ago and have all these books in paperback. When I joined Audible and saw they were avalible I had to start getting them in this form. It's like discovering them again. I love being able to listen to the story again and in this form its like the first time. I have always been an avid reader and this series has always been one of my favorites.
Yes and he is a awesome narrator.
This is so worth your credit or if you don't have a credit and want a book to listen to it's worth the price. You won't be disappointed.
I was looking for a new series to start and this has definitely lived up to my expectations. I love the character development and how each character is introduced thus far (note: I'm starting the 4th book this week). I can't wait to complete the entire series and to see what more is in store for these characters.
Tell us about yourself!
I bought this series a long time ago on sale and never got around to listening to it because I wasn't really sure I'd be into it but boy was I wrong! I usually read Historical Romance and as much as I love my Dukes and Duchesses I was in the mood for something a little different so I decided to listen to the first installment of The Black Dagger Brotherhood and it wasn't long before I was totally hooked on the delicious warrior vampire brothers and actually went on and listened to the whole series in order. Dark Lover was one of my favorites in the series. This book tells the story of Wrath (the vampire king) and Beth his beloved. What I love about this series is that even though each book focuses on one specific relationship there is a lot more going on with other characters and relationships at the same time. The narrator that was chosen for this series is one of the best I have heard and he made the books even better. I highly recommend.
