The total dedication the Warriors have to their brothers and females they bond with. The story is exciting, loving, sexy hot, caring, exciting and sometimes sad. I can't wait to listen to the other books following!
The love and dedication it portrays.
Kinda funny to hear a man speak all the characters to me although he gets the meaning out of every scene accurately. Jim is a very good reader. works for me, He can bring the feeling out and make me laugh and cry for sure!
Dark Lover is the perfect title.
I am new to audible books, my daughter suggested I listen to this series because I work 10 hrs a day and only have the option of listening while I work. She is addicted to the story. As am I now. What a rush!
Incredible world developed for our enjoyment. Ward is a wizard; she knows just how to push the buttons of her audience. Awesome story line and character development, you really feel a part of the action. Lovely fantasy opportunities.
This was an entertaining listen if somewhat formulaic. Loved the good guys in it. Rating would have been higher on the story, but I didn't like the bad guys. I know, I know. You aren't _supposed_ to like that bad guys. But I like bad guys where, when they get taken out, it's quick, justified, and you feel like justice was done. When these guys get taken out, you feel like they didn't suffer enough, like there needs to be a way to go back and make them never exist. Then again, when I think of it like that, I'm happier with the ending...
I bought this book, dispite the poor rating I gave the narrator in another book, because it was on sale for 4.95 and I just love J.R. Ward. I was surprized by how much I enjoyed this book and Jim Frangione's narration, either he got better or he's just growing on me. As always the story is top notch and the narration was very good. I would definitely recommend this book; it has drama, humor, and a great love story...what more can you ask for? Evil villans--yep, got them too!
I have bought 2 more of the brotherhood books and Mr. Frangione's narration is, as I said, growing on me. I still wish he were more consistent; sometimes Butch has an accent ( usually only when the author mentions it) but mostly he doesn't. Sometimes the brothers have a slight accent, sometimes they don't; sometimes Mr. F is very good with the emotional aspects...sometimes not so good. I will buy Lover Reborn when it is released and hope for the best.
I really liked the way Wrath evolved during the story. He started out with the attitude that the only good human was: male-dead, female- on their backs, and ended up in love with a half-human female. He definitely grew during the story and so did his relationship with the other brothers.
I have many favorite scenes but one very good one was the brotherhood's reaction to Wrath's claiming Beth. I don't want to spoil it by saying too much, so I will only say it was one of many that I loved, true.
I cannot pick one memorable character because they were all great, at least in the brotherhood, plus Butch of course. It is also hard for me to pick one individual as though I had never seen the evolution of the characters in the other books, which I have. I have read all the books more than twice( except Zadist story--that one is hard for me to reread because of all the things done to him) and I expect to read or listen to them again.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this series, I've just finished a series from another author, and I thought that series was going to be hard to beat. But this is story is truly a starter for me. I've heard a lot about it. I am just going to say, I am not disappointed.
Loved the book, liked the narrator.
loved the story line
loved the different tone for the people
Yes. Much to take in, interesting details.
Beth, the human reporter whose life changed.
The inflections in the voices.
This book is your introduction to a terrific series. The Brothers are powerfully sexy and a load of fun. Hang in there, it just gets better and better.
Great book, very interesting and not too much paranormal to dominate the story.
The romance is the best.
Wrath, complicated and honorable, he learns he deserves happiness too.
Narrator is FABULOUS! Takes a little to get used to but once you do Frangione is AMAZING!
different, erotic, entertaining
when Wrath rescues Beth
distinguishable voices for each character
Half-human becomes vampires lover
can't wait to the other books in the series
