Well, it's a lot more graphic than I like, but the story was good.
When the woman found out she was part vampire.
The female lead.
I enjoyed the book, it was well written, and Jim Frangiine was great.
J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood Series is the best of its genre. I have yet to read or listen to anything better. I read to relieve stress, and getting lost in her books for a while does that and quite a bit more. (my hubby has benefited greatly from her novels) Her books are so good that I want them to be made into a series. I fell for the books long before I purchased the audio books. But Jim Frangione's voice and style of reading just takes them to another level. The Warden has spoiled me. Would love to find more works of art like hers but so far, no dice. Therefore, I just listen to the BDB Series over and over again.
The Storyline, the characters absolutely everything! about this book!
The love between Wrath and Bella! and his need for her very hot!
I have never listened to Jim Frangion's readings before but he does a great job.
I would take Rage out to dinner as I love Hollywood good looks and Rage's fearsome nature.
I am on book number 7 now of this series and will not stop until book #10 This is the best series I have bought a listened too this year! and I am an avid Audible reader!
The chapters with Mr. X were boring I soon had to fast forward through them. There was nothing likable about Wrath in the first part. What woman that was almost raped one night, would the next night let a stranger walk in her house without screaming and then have sex with him, really? The author should have done some research in that area or used common since. The sex scenes were not interesting, the sex talk was not plausible or compelling....... She is in her father's house but her and her protecter let a very dangerous person stay in the house, come on. Ward must be a male because women just don't think the way this Beth does. He tells her I have killed thousands, I will never stay with you and let's have sex. The story did improve somewhat in the second part.
I think I have found all the good ones in this genre, Jeanine Frost and Deborah Harkness were the best. Molly Harper was funny but, she needed Tavia Gilbert for narrator. I will see if Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child have something I haven't listened to.
Yes, he was a good narrator. I think he would be better in a book like Neon Rain. I think this would have been better if there were a female narrator also.
Not really. I had to fast forward through most. The last four chapters were the most tolerable. The author did describe the way of the their world worked well.
Not worth a credit or more than 4.95.
I'd rather listen than read!!!! This is my joy!!!
I would think that it's better than print, but it really does not matter because the book was great.
I love the fact that their verbiage was young vibrant and an attention getter.
When Wrath was attempting to eat food and she discovered that he was blind.
I loved Wrath and the fact that he was blind and still got things done.
Anything original or surprising would have made this a better story. Prepare to walk a well beaten path.
I don't fault the narrator.
I would have rejected the entire story.
Say something about yourself!
Yes, Has a bit of everything, Love. sex, violence ect
The ending! Can't spoil it.
Did well with the differance voices.
Wrath.. He has so much power
I was very pleased to find a new series to read. I and almost up to date with The MIDNIGHT BREED series. Black dagger Brotherhood fits right in. I love it when I find book 1 of a series and it turns out to be more then I thought it would be.
Yes, the story was simply amazing! It started great and moved along keeping your attention the whole time!!
Beth Randall, She was someone that you could identify with.
Him watching her from outside their first real "encounter"
Dark lover just like the title
Very Graphic in all aspects
Great opening for the series it lets you know even a little about all the characters; keeps your interest
I was both happy and sad over the contents of the book
I would rank Dark Lover up with the best! The reason for this is because it was like I was part of the story line or in the room while the book was happening.
I would have to say a cross between Fifty Shades and a Vamp book.
I have not listened to any of Jim Frangione's other performances before and I love how he does the different voices including the women's. At first I wasn't sure if I would like the set but due to the voices I am totally in love.
When good beats evil. Gets me every time.
