Sorry but having the male reader mimic a woman's voice like a muppet baby kind of ruins Deaver for me. I don't like that at all.
Didn't get far enough into it to tell.
Women Characters should be read in a regular voice or get a woman narrator for those roles, having a male narrator mimic a woman is degrading the role and ruined the book for me early on.
For some reason, I stopped listening to the Lincoln Rhyme series, but this one has gotten me interested again.
The plot line with Amelia Sachs and her father's memory.
After five, yes FIVE, attempts to finish this, it's done. Phew! Although the story itself was ok, there was way too much time spent on fluff, lots and lots of fluff. There are only so many ways to describe what the temperature is in a given moment and keep a reader interested. Would have been better as a short story.
First of all the narrator is terrific. I love a good crime novel and this is certainly one of them. I have never read a Lincoln, Rime novel and will be looking for more in the future. The way they gather evidence and put up the murder board, I was right there. The author really brings you into the action.
The Lincoln Rhime books are all great. This one had all the character development and plot intrigue we have come to expect from Jeffrey Deaver. If I had any complaint, it would be that the plot was almost too complicated, but it certainly kept me guessing. I would heartily recommend this and any other of the series.
This is the most plot-twist ridden book I've ever read/heard... a little suspenstion of disbelief is needed, but it's great fun for twist fans nonetheless.
This book was really good, but I have to tell you some of the plot was a bit far fetched. If you fell asleep or lost your focus you had to back track to see what you might have missed. The plots were at times too twisted to be believed but entertaining anyway.
Loved this audiobook! I usually figure out the plot in the first quarter of a book but not this one. What may have been confusing for others was a thrill for me. I found myself sitting in the driveway for 30 minutes after I turned the car off. THAT is the reason I never bring an audiobook inside, I would never get anything done. The only sections I didn't like were the file note reviews - they lasted forever and I tended to tune out. Other than that it would have been five stars. I highly recommend this one.
One of my first buys, and it really delivered. Lots of intrigue and twists and turns. You can't go wrong.
Always kept my attention.
