The Lucky one was another great Nicholas Sparks story. It was full of suspense, romance, and unexpected twist.
I liked the suspense and character development in the story. I also liked how the ending tied up the various story lines.
Not if I have another choice. Although John Bedford Lloyd tried to give each character personality, I did not feel the narrator accurately portrayed the characters. At times he sounded flat and was a bit annoying to listen to. If I had time to sit down and read the book, I would have turned off the audible book and purchased the actual book.
Have not read a Sparks novel in a long time and have forgotten how good he is. His books are beautifully written and give us a sweet familiar love story that is pretty much based on a formula. This is not as good as his earlier novels.
There is no suspense because the reader can pretty much tell what is coming. It is great bedtime read before falling asleep. You can easily put it down for a while. Basically, it is milk toast.
Woman, 33 years old, Attornay at Law, DK. In order for a book to be truly great, it must inspire, intreague and a keep me up till dawn.
I liked it a lot, but it is a very slow narrator and sometimes I got just a little bored. Thats why it made me want to see the movie, as they tend to cut out a lot in order to only keep the esentials. Overall the storyline is very nice though and I gave it four stars for the romanceplot.
I didn't read the print edition. I use audio all the time so I can do two things at once. If I didn't, I would never have time to read
All of them but the I wanted to kick the ex-husband
I love Nicholas Sparks. It was a wonderful story as usual. I was surprised in ending. Pleasantly surprised.
Fun, easy listening . I listen while I clean and cook, sometimes I miss a few minutes with kids, but would not be lost. I enjoyed very much.
Seemed real. Kept you interested & involved. No boring parts.
Logan and his German Shepherd (Zeus)
The last two chapters. I don't want to give anything away but you'll definitely be moved.
The story plot was a bit predictable. I could see this one as being better as a movie than a book.
The story line
When the dog saved the boy
I did not enjoy the male voices
Beth, she really found herself.
Logan, he's very interesting.
Nicholas Sparks isa phenomenal writer and never leaves a detail untouched.
PLOT: a soldier finds a photo which becomes his lucky charm off and on the battle field.
A soldier finds a laminated photo of a lovely girl and becomes a "lucky charm" when he survives 3 tours of Iraq. The ex soldier is on a journey walking across the US has discover the girl who lives with her grandmother. Beth is the girls name soon has a new employee the ex soldier. The local law is the ex husbend of Beth who bends the law to meet his own needs. This is a good story it builds and keeps you very interested. I give it 4 stars all across for READER, story, and over all performance. one fo the BEST Sparks stories.
