This is the second Harlan Coben book I've read and I thought both were fantastic. What starts as so many threads are expertly woven back together to reveal shocks and surprises. I highly recommend.
I have committed Scott Brick's name to memory. I will never listen to anything else narrated by him. His overly dramatic reading completely buries the story. His suburban mothers even sound like New Jersey thugs.
Possibly. I have listened to several Coben stories, but all of them were better than this one. It was completely unbelievable. I finished it, but the last half was torture.
Overly dramatic. I felt like I was in a soap opera. Dark Shadows has nothing on this guy.
"Oh Brother". Enough with the drama. I couldn't hear the characters voices through Brick's melodrama.
Just be sure you know what you're getting yourself into with this narrator. It grates after a short time.
I've been following coben since his first sports book. He has gotten better but not fun anymore. I miss his humor. He's a funny guy. Of course he writes about my childhood area so I go back in my day dreams. Good read. I recommend him to all but my most literary friends.
This book is very well done. The performance was spot on by Scott Brick. He's one of the better narrators. You can judge that by the sheer number of books he's narrated. I've read other Harlan Coben books and this is by far my favorite. No spoilers.... but the entire novel is thought provoking and important in toady's technical world. Loved it!
Listening to this as a parent n grandparent it was very scary. So scary that although my main listening time is at night when I waken n would rather vanish into the world of fiction than my neurotic worrying mind, Harlan Coben had me listening to this book during the day. It got so intense I listened in the car and the morning I only had 1hr n 20 min to go I chased my husband out of the bedroom because I could not not find out how all the storyline ended. OMG. Coben once again brought them all to a completely satisfying ending.
I really enjoyed this book. It had lots of nice twists and turns to keep the story moving and keep me engaged. I definitely recommend this one by Harlan Coben,
