I enjoyed most of the books in this series. They entertained me and made me laugh. But this one did not make me laugh. The characters are becoming to predictable, and the dialogue is always the same. This book focuses entirely too much on unpleasant bodily functions; and seriously, a little of that goes a long way. It isn't cute anymore.
I love Stephanie Plum Books and I always wait with great impatience for the day of the new release. However, I have felt, especially the last book and now definately this book the story line is just a rerun of the first 13 books. With story lines and words just being reworked enough to make it eligible to be called a new book. My recomendation is to not waste any of your credits but wait for a used paperback. And a quick read at the beach. That way if you can't finish it all the way it won't really matter and you will not have wasted too much money. I stay faithful because I still say "One for the Money" is one of the most enjoyable books I have ever read. However, it is now time for Stephanie to grow up and the writing to become as fresh and great as tne first book in this story line.
I've never taken the time to review a book before but this one had me laughing out loud at the grocery store. I listened to it twice (back to back) because I was afraid I may have missed something. It was just as funny the second time. Thanks for making me laugh.
I thought that this would be a good, fun, light summer read. I couldn't get past chapter 5. The narrator was a big part of the problem - her character voices were so poor that I couldn't bear to listen. She poorly rendered caricatures of people. The writing & trite dialogue didn't help either. It kills me that I paid $15.00 for this. What a HUGE disappointment!
Evanovich included the humor we've come to expect but not the twist of mystery that keeps her readers in suspense. There was very little sexual tension as Morelli was mostly off limits in this book and Ranger held at far enough at bay that there wasn't even a chance of romance- truly disappointing. This book is mostly held together with cliches of the other books - nothing new that moves the series forward.
yes i would recommend this book cant wait to hear the next book, just love to hear the differece characters
stepahine in the hot dog suit
lula was my favorite in this book
Revisiting the cast of characters--feels like "checking in" with old pals.
I liked that Stephanie's disasters were relatively minimal.
Hard to say.
Naw. These stories don't often bring up tender emotions. But I often laugh out loud.
These stories are a delight & Loreli King is my favorite reader of this series.
Fun, Easy listening
That I laughed while I listened.
Not sure just enjoyed it all!
I am waiting for another book to come out, as I have read/listened to all of hers.
I love the narration! She's the best! Lula had me giggling in the middle of the night. The tense sexual interaction with Ranger is incredibly alluring. And Moreli is very sexy.
Yes, didn't know what Stephanie, Lula and Grandma Mazure would come up with next!
When Lula fluffed and fainted when her precious Firebird blew up.
Yes, and I did. I didn't sleep all night.
Janet, keep them coming.
I can listen to Stephanie Plum everyday and just laugh my head off. It's fun to read/listen to when you're sick and feeling bad. She's too funny!!
