What can one say about a collaboration between two truly wonderful storytellers. Fabulous story, laugh out loud silliness. Stephen Biggs is a consistent and engaging narrator
Yes it made me laugh out loud.
Lovely story with great characters well read
I can't compare this to any other books other than Sir Terry's Guards Guards or Monstrous Regiment
"Read book twice, listened twice, good even then."
Read book twice, listened twice, good even then.
loved the description of dog, and his rise to pethood
"Well performed, well written, well enjoyed"
Although I felt at times, especially near the end, the story dragged a little, this may have just been due to the fact I listened to it so often in such a short period of time I started to feel restless. I also thought that the vast cast of characters sometimes became a little confusing, though they were all well crafted and acted. However these two aspects don't take away from how awesome the book was at a whole, and especially how Briggs narrates it, I loved the whole experience and I'm glad I chose to listen to it rather than read it myself.
it has to be said, good omens represents one of the finest examples of the genre. whats interesting is that to hear the authers tell it, the book for the most part wrote itself.
"The end of the world: This Saturday!"
I don't often read fantasy novels, but this was a great 'behind the scenes' look at what could happen! Very typically English, whilst remembering to explain British things to our North American cousins!
This is s novel that you need to listen to a couple of times because, you just know that you'll miss something funny, or interesting the first time around!
Reminds me a little of C. S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. Another good read. It is, of course, only human to imagine what is going on in the minds of angels and demons… this was very well imagined!
"Laugh Out Loud Funny & Super Clever"
It was totally unexpected. Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman are both amazing authors but this combination is the best of both of them. Every joke is perfectly formed & perfectly timed, the story is totally unique & yet as old as time.... Every piece fits into place perfectly & I found myself laughing out loud so many times I was banned from listening to it when there were other people around!
Definately! I could have listened to this forever!
"best book ever"
loved it love it love it love it love it loved it! ! ! ! moo skellyT
Pratchett and Gaiman are pure genius - hilarious from start to finish, will definitely reread again and again!
"A masterpiece novel from two fantasy geniuses."
The book is a humorous take on the end of the world written by two modern fantasy authors whose imagination is endless. Plots of different characters and their visions of the end of the world are funny, unique and grotesque right up to the twist in the end.
The four horseman of the apocalypse because of the authors unique interpretation of them.
It is the first Stephen Briggs' performance I listened to. It was at a faster paste than other narrators, however I would listen to it again and again.
The only tears were tears of happiness.
Imagination of the authors is outstanding. Thank you for the hours of enjoyment.
