The reviews I read before picking the book.
Possibly she could have chosen a different narrator.
I couldn't find a plot, but perhaps it was because the narrator was so obnoxious and distracting.
A different reader could have helped, but perhaps not enough to make this story worth listening to. The fake French accents didn't help.
All of them.
Don't bother trying to figure out what the reviews are talking about, just move on to a better writer and narrator.
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
There was all kinds of adventure for Aisling in Light my fire. More demons and demon lords, war with the scept, war with other entities, inquisitions from guardians, someone trying to kill Aisling, a dragon to soothe and not to mention a mother in law to contend with just to name a few. Aisling trusty side kick is still smart mouthing it and a cab is always ready. Similar to the other books so if you like them, you will like this one. Narrator is the same and I enjoyed her readings. I did notice a small amount of swallowing so you are on your own if this bugs you.
I've never listened to a book that has the heroine deal with sooo much bad luck. You have to continue to listen just to find out how Ashling is going to get herself out of this fine mess. She even says that life can't get much worse and, lo and behold, it does. Fortunately she has a great support system in the form of a demon named Jem and one of the fates, as well as, the love of a dragon.
This book ended with a tiny bit of a cliff hanger so I immediately went to the next book. There are four books to this series and I recommend that you read (listen) to them in order.
As I've stated before, I really enjoy series because you can immerse yourself in the lives of the characters and in the they world they live. Isn't that what reading is all about?
Typical vampiresque-love story but the narrator makes this series fun, fun, fun. Her voices enhance the characters personalities and make the book worth listening to. I love the characters, the sarcasm and wit, Aisling's fierce independence, the relationship between Aisling and Jim (her guardian in dog form), and her love-hate relationship with Drake. If you like easy listening with entertaining narration, this is a good one.
Read it now :)
I always love the reoccurring characters.
When Jim eats the imp king.
Seeing how much Aisling loves Jim.
This is a great series of books with delight full characters.
I can't say it enough! I absolutely, positively loved the Aisling Gray series! I hope the author comes out with more of them. Drake and Aisling are just too, too funny and when they're not making you laugh the air around them sizzles with the heat between them. The plots of each book in the series are interesting, fastpaced and never boring!! I laughed out loud so many times my young daughter thought I was nuts! If you like funny, heated, fast paced paranormal romances --you'll love this one and the whole series! Read them in order though to get the full effect!!
If you enjoyed the first two Aisling Grey books then you will feel right at home with the third Light My Fire. You have Aisling dealing with her everyday bad luck it seems, doggie demon Jim (who doesn’t love Jim) providing comedy at every turn, and Drake who adds just the right amount of sexiness to this great series. I was not crazy about the narrator at first but have grown to like her as the series progresses. I think this is my favorite of the Aisling Grey books.
I normally read science-fiction and fantasy. I found this one while browsing a Valentine's Day sale, and was attracted by the mention of dragons and demons. I should have known better.
Perhaps the main problem was not having read the previous books in the series, but I found the heroine to be very annoying, and her lover to be one-dimensional and uninteresting. I could not get a clear picture of either one of them, and did not really feel any chemistry between them. Even the sex scenes were unconvincing and strangely empty. Worst of all, the narration is full of annoying swallowing sounds.
From here out, I'll stick to my own genre...
Maybe this book is an acquired taste, one that I have not acquired. I found the story simplistic with juvenile humor. The author gets great reviews on Amazon, I just thought it was silly. But,then again, I never got Benny Hill.
