Despite the stomach turning elements that I won't spoil (though you should be able to guess from the first book), this one was my favorite of the series. I love Simon and Alexander Lightwood. The two main characters caught up in their own self obsessed world of teenage angst and identity confusion don't block the really interesting things happening with everyone else, and even their twisted little story is oddly compelling.
I love this series and can't wait till City of Glass comes out. The story line totally sucks you in and makes you want to know more. i am stil in love with Jace and hope things work out the way i want in the third book... :-)
I enjoyed all of the Mortal Instruments books, while some parts do seem to be a bit over-explained (thoughts of the characters get very detailed & occasionally stray a bit), it is an enjoyable series. I found myself wanting the 4th book......but it looks like I will have to read the 'prequel' coming soon! I read these as I saw the author of TWILIGHT reads Cassandra's books, and that was intriguing enough (as I am always searching for new GOOD content to listen to!). Worth the listen!
No, the author bounces around to much for me. One book doesn't flow into the other. She needs to work on transition.
Again I hate her transition from one book to another and I dont like the jump from one characters storyline to the other.
Idk, but she did a good job.
I couldn't give this a good review because of the whole incest angle. Too bad. Yucky and creepy-take it out and you have yourself a great story
Ok so I have not read the entire series, I was not all that impressed with the first book. So I thought I would be fair and give this one a try. I just found it to be wrong. When you have been making out with a guy, and then you find out he is you'r brother...... UMMM that should be the end of you making out with him and wanting him.... But noooo its just odd to me. I have not finished the series, but I really hope these two turn out not being related.
Too much dialogue and not enough action. BUT still a great read and necessary for the series.
Ugh! The narrator makes every character sound like a 90210 kid. "like oh. my. god." she's especially horrible when it comes to Jace. He almosts sounds gay and he's not so its hard to see him as Clary's (the main character) love interest.
