Look, I don't like Stephen King novels but this series is just amazing so far. And the narrator is great at his performance. A must read/listen!
Probably - this is my 3rd time reading this book - first time listening to it. It still stands up as a great story and is pretty gripping. If you didn't really like the Gunslinger, you will probably like this one more as it is more of a traditional style story wheras the Gunslinger was a little more "artsy."
It sets up the next two books very well and brings in more action and development than the first book provided.
I have not but his performance was good.
My only gripe is with the formatting of this particular audio book. Other titles I have downloaded from Audible are separated by Chapter making it easy to see how much time you have left in a chapter and to pick up at a specific spot. This file, though, is just broken up by disc so each thing labeled as a "Chapter" in the audible app is actually a disc, not a Chapter. Therefore, if you click on Chapter 3 for example, it picks up mid passage which can be slightly irritating if you only want to listen to a chapter or two at a time. Luckily the app remembers where you are at so if you just listen through without skipping around, it won't be a major problem.
I have never read the print version, but the narrator is amazing, so I would guess that the audio version is just as good as, if not better than, the print version.
The connection between all of the characters. You understand from the beginning that they are all related in some way, but the similarities and closeness of all the characters is accentuated throughout the story.
No, but this performance was spectacular. The only complaint is that he pronounces some words differently than the narrator of The Dark Tower I.
Yes! I've been utterly drawn into the quest for the dark tower!
An avid reader that has run out of time to read and has turned to audiobooks to get his daily bookworm fed.
Its alright, its not the best or the worst I've listened to.
Yes, I love stephen kings works and have found very few I have disliked.
Muller does his accents very well.
Roland by far.
Say something about yourself!
I get that this is supposed to be a thought provoking book but it just lost me with the amount of detail that it would dive into. I feel it could have been shorter because there was a lot of unnecessary, long , drawn out detail.
Yup, going to finish the series.
Yes, been waiting on a company to finally pick it up and make a movie or series of it.
