This is fantastic. You must first read Outlander the first in the series otherwise it will make little sense. Davina Porter as narrator is one of the best I have ever heard. Although- not my favorite of the series- I was hooked! Fantastic character developement (again- must read the series in order) I paid full price for this and was not disappointed!
It just doesnt't get ANY better than this! Loved the entire series!! Read it once and then bought the entire unabridged series on audio! That solidfied what an EXCELLENT series this is! To hear Jamie's scottish brogue is heart melting
I read Voyager several years ago and loved it. However I found the narrator to be too old for the material, I also felt the narration way too slow and found myself fast forwarding at times.
I did not finish listening to it.
Lord John Grey.
No. I did not like her reading of the story and that is why I did not finish. I do not think she did a good job of differentiating the various characters.
As an audiobook, a different reader. I enjoy the Outlander series very much but do not think it is irresistible - it has issues and is in need of a better content editor.
I found no difference between Dragonfly in Amber and Voyager. My audio copies are identical.
I've tried everything, but Part 1 seems to cut off around the 1:15 mark each time, even though it's suppose to be 8 hours long. Please fix
Glad to be part of the audible community and I hope that my reviews help to choose the right book and share my love of reading.
Well, I have enjoyed all three installments as to this point. However, Ms. Gabaldon, does take the name of the Lord in vain, continuously and it does get old. Also she continuously says: He licked his dry lips. l said dryly... He said wryly .... really ??? The English language doesn't have any other adjectives? I emailed her about this, and would be surprised if I would get an answer. Yes, the series is addictive, but I am tired of superman Jamie, yet, Claire can't get him any 1940's help and advice, really??????? Really.. wouldn't we want to help the way and the art of thinking we have learned 200 years later than people from the past... Folks not all that realistic... English is well written, but story becomes repetitive and boring. Narrator: YES, she does make the story. This is why I gave it 4 stars. PLEASE stop licking dry lips and use any one else other than our precious Lord's name in vain.
A grandma who loves books but has no time to read, having audiobook is a great chance to kept up with great books.
Love it it's a real enjoyment to listen to.
