I liked the performance, and because I've read the book several times I knew I liked the story. My only complaint is the performer seemed to think Devil was an 80 year old smoker.
All business but contemporary fun!
I wanted to like this book because as soon as you start reading you see its beautiful prose and a plot that throws you into a murdered body and the male and female leads stranded in a cottage for the night. However, the story's pace decelerates and stays flat until the very end. I am also sorry to say but I KNEW who the murderer is from the time he first appeared in the book. The hints were so obvious that it completely ruined the suspense.
No. The narration was completely over the top.
I've read this book a number of times and the story keeps getting better. Being able to listen to it is just as good.
Surpassed my expectations I have the hardcover book and love it then and now even more and Simon is great his voice smooth as butter for all his characters I will be buying the next book soon. Thank you.
I loved the story, loved Devil's determination to have Honoria as his wife. I loved the banter between the two, and I enjoyed the closeness of the cousins.
Nope! He read the love scenes like he was narrating a horse race. His narration was so intense and dramatic that he managed to ruin a perfectly good Stephanie Laurens book.
Not one in particular.
I thought it would be fun to listen to an old favorite. I hope I won't hear the narrator's voice in my head if I re-read the others in this series.
Lover of romance. Mother of 2.
Devil Cynster is one Larger than Life man to recon with. He is absolutely heavy-handed with everyone, save his wife. Honoria Prudence is not prudent when it comes to her husband. For her, he is everything and would do absolutely anything to ensure the dastardly deeds of the villain is unsuccessful.
The beautiful thing about this book is no matter what, family is the reason all is done and that cannot possibly be in dispute. All taken in as family has one for life. Between Devil, Lucifer, Deamon, Gabriel & Scandal, this family will fall hard and I am going to enjoy each story.
I absolutely enjoyed this book, however, it was a little drawn out but there was never a part in which I didn't want to know every little detail.
Definitely! Exciting and very enjoyable.
Sylvester, of course. His personality, physical appearance, charm. He has such a powerful presence and persona, you can't help but love him. He's a tough guy but has a good heart. I didn't like the fact that he never says "I love you" to Honoria but his actions speak for themselves.
This is the first I've heard of him but he did an amazing job. Excellent voice.
Yes! Great chemistry between them at the beginning and very exciting toward the middle and end.
My favorite book of all the Cynster series. Favorite male lead!
One thing I love about this audio with Simon Prebble is the fact that he knows how to pronounce all those words in the print edition that I only thought I knew. Love his voice anyway.
A Rake's Vow matches up with how well this one is done
English as it was meant to be spoken/heard and proper enunciation and pronunciation
Read this one in paperback form but I had to have it when i saw it was in audio format. Simon Prebble is a wonderful addition.
