I listened for around 45 minutes. Hoping each minute it would become something I could learn from. I couldn't take it anymore and had to shut it off. One of the worst books I've ever listened to, and I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks.
The author basically makes the assertion that every part of us is part of the greater universe, blaugh blaugh blaugh. And then goes on to make it clear he is against all rules, influences, social mores, governmental laws, other people's opinions etc. Basically that we were somehow perfect when we were born and that our parents and society have ruined us.
Basically a bunch of complete crap.
I can' t for the life of me understand how this book has so many good reviews. Its about as profound as a fortune cookie message, or today's horoscope.
I could relate to it years ago and pick it up again recently with a new perspective and still learn.
It helped me tremendously, especially the 'don't take personally' (the projection of other's reality).
Thank you for offering it in audio version!!
life changing experience
the content, the actual agreements
perfection person to read this book. Peter Coyote's cadence is perfect for the "feel" of this book.
the whole concept, it's what i live by now
The author's philosphy about domestication of Planet and human Beings. All 4 aggrements are eye opening and makes us deeply think.
Dont take anything personally :)
Well i do like to compare this book with a Indian Author knows as Prof M K Gupta. Before reading 4 Agreement, i have read Mr. Gupta's book called as '' HOW TO BE EVER FREE''.If possible please try to make a audio book of this Author. He has written many books of similar kind. Thanks!
Narration was SO SO.
Sure, it was :)
There is still scope to improve in form of background music, narration. and try to make it more emotionalise and dramtic.
Very, very enlightening!
Not a story, no characters
I will listen to this book again, and again!
Simple and to the point. If we all lived this way, the world would be a better place
Mind changing information
I liked the First Agreement: Be a man of your word
I have...many times.
yes, you can play parts you really did not get, the essence of the meaning or idea.
the voice of knowledge
the fifth agreement
it's all good
it made me realize the human being that I am and to honor the self
buy it and learn how to be authentic in action and word
i dont normally leave reviews, but i feel i have to on this title, a must listen to for anyone, of any faith!
I have a rather eclectic love of books. I know what I like and I tend not to be a severe critic. If I enjoyed it, it gets 4 or 5 stars.
I think if there are four rules you are going to follow in your life, these would be a wise choice. Ruiz makes a lot of sense and if we could really live within these parameters it would make life so much more simple.
It is a good book - I enjoyed it and took something away with me.
