Very well read by Mare Winningham. Every time I read about the Salem witch trials, it just boggles my mind, what mass hysteria can do. Excellent novel.
A grim depiction of man's inhumanity to man. Some people might find this disturbing, but I am reminded of how easily people could be (and in some cases are) caught up in a similar "witch hunt" today. I love historical novels and this takes place close to where I live. Fast moving with excellent narration.
This was a dark but enlightening book about the witch trials in Mass. The narration was very good and the author told a fascinating story.
This was a different from what I normally listen to, but it was wonderful. The author made me feel like I was right there in Old New England. Storyline kept me so interested, that I got caught listening to it while at a meeting. It was that good.
A raw, honest and completely captivating audio book. Kathleen Kent and Mare Winningham bring history to life in this vivid and sometimes wrenching account of the hysteria of the era. Highly recommended.
I love historical fiction, and this is a great story, based on the tragic story of people being persecuted and killed for being different under the cloak of being called witches. Interesting perspective. Will man's inhumanity to man ever stop?
