Yes it was well worth the listen. It continues the struggles of Mercy with the vampires, fayes and werewolves.
Wrapped up the story well and no cliff hangers.
Cannot remember now
Yes a movie series potential.
Mercy - Emma Stone
Adam Hoffman - Jake Gallyenhail
Sam - Ryan Goseling
Lorelei King does a fantastic job. She is one of my favorite narrators.
Just as good as the first book
Yes. I love this series and this Book doesn't disappoint. They all build on the past so it is important to listen to the books in order. I was fortunate to discover this series after all six were published so now I'm waiting for Book 7 to be published next year. In the meantime I'm relistening to all of the books again, after having read them in text format, and listened in audible once already. I am an addict for Mercy!
Let's see if I can count that high. Mercy, of course, because she is strong and what every woman wants to be. Having the alpha of the pack after her, and the son of the wolves, and the vampire loves her. Then there's Adam and he terrific. Stephan is marvelous because he is so old world and gentlemanly and a vampire! Hmmm. After that it is Warren and then Ben and I love Bran and his grandfatherly approach to Mercy. I just love them all.
Only heard her in this series but will listen to her in the Stephanie Plum stories soon. She is a marvelous performer.
When Stephan shows up emaciated because his mistress has been punishing him. He is so needy and the wolves step up and help out. Patricia Briggs has an interesting way of telling these urban/fantasy/thrillers which make you want more and more.
I think the Mercy Thompson series is superb. Now I'll have to go back and listen to some of her other series.
Patricia Briggs writes one of my favorite series with her Mercedes Thompson novels. Mercy is a kick-ass strong woman who constantly finds herself in a mess, but gets out of it with courage and intelligence. Of course being able to shift into a coyote doesn't hurt. Add to that the hottest of werewolf alphas competing for her, and what's not to like.
Lorelei King is a terrific narrator. She does such a great job bringing a wide variety of characters to life with her voice. I can't imagine anyone else every portraying Mercy. Pair up King with Briggs' clever writing and you always get your money's worth.
I love how Mercy thinks!
I like how I can hear each personality and emotion through her voice. It doesn't feel like I'm being read to.
One of my top ten favorites. Mercy has ticked off the local vampires so they put a curse on her garage that cannot be washed off, painted over or otherwise gotten rid of unless the vampire queen deems it. Mercy discretely goes out of town to help an old friend and to stay out of the line of fire. All she has to do is stay away from the ONE vampire in the whole city she is visiting but what does she do? Well you can probably guess that one for yourself. If you can't buy the audio book.
When she discovers the Oak Tree fully grown in her yard as a thank you from the Oak Fae.
Everything. She gives you a whole cast of characters and personalties.
I laughed, I cried, I did the snoopy dance, I yelled and I cheered.
Patricia Briggs produced a great legacy to leave the the avid readers who just eat this stuff up.
I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
The whole thing was great.....I love the descriptive words Patricia Briggs uses...she writes in a way that challenges a reader to expand there vocabulary and enjoy it!!!
Mercy of course.....but I do love Stephen and Adam too...
shes just perfect for this character....
It was a pure joy from minute one...
on my way to #5 now!!! lol
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
Great book! I'm not trying to get into spoilers but I will say that things finally get worked out between Mercy and Adam and I'm so glad! The story line mostly involved difficulties with vamp politics but was interesting too. I liked the book and would recommend it.
Being a long time fan of supernatural and horror stories, I have been nervous to take on any new series after the Twilight genre has taken over. But this series is addicting, fun and unique. Mercy is a fantastic character that Patricia Briggs has developed really well in the series. I always want to know what is going to happen next, and sometimes get so caught up in it that I am buying the next book when I haven’t even finished the one I am reading/listening to. Lorelei King does a great job at capturing the essence of Mercy and all the characters in the series. I really enjoy each of the books in the series and hope she continues to pop out this fun series for years to come!
Well written, and well performed. Its one of the better series I have found.
