This book is interesting, articulate, scary and touching. What more do you need in a book? I LOVE these characters. These guys can write! I highly recommend all of D. Preston and L. Child's books. Each is eerie in it's own unique way. A fun read, impossible to "put down" and I highly recommend!
Excellent book. As soon as I finished 'The Cabinet of Curiosities' (I sat on my bed for an hour to finish listening) I started 'Still Life with Crows'...again I couldn't turn off my player. With their fantastic twisting turning narratives, Preston and Child take you through a maze of a story. I could almost feel the corn pollen in my nose and the heat of the sun on my back. A great read!!
This book was a little slow at first and then it totally grabbed me. It was so grafic i was there with FBI agent Pendergast with his every move. could not stop listening.
I have read/listened to every book that has been published by the dynamic duo of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Only one has yet to even slightly disapoint me. This is not that book! The authors have created some very interesting characters in their books, one of my favorites being FBI Special Agent Pendergast. He is one of the most enigmatic characters I'm met so far. In this story, agent Pendergast travels to rural Kansas to investigate a grizzly murder. Turns out, the murderer is a possible serial killer. With the style used in their previous books, Preston and Child weave one heck of a story laden with the supernatural and possibly some natural history. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good, edge of your seat thriller.
MORE ! More Pendergast - an abosolutely wonderful character, growing with each book. I was not disappointed in the ongoing tales of FBI special agent Pendergast. I found Rene Auberjonois (who has narrated both books) to be a great story teller. Again a story that makes the reader think and not overlook any of even the slightest comments as being an integral part of the story. I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE
This book grabs you right from the start and never lets go! And the ending will not only send chills up your spine, it will leave you absolutely stunned! If you like mystery, thrills and chills, you just can't pass this book up!
I rated this book 1 star only because there isn't anything lower.
The story makes no sense. The writing ranges from dull and trite to gratuitously gruesome. The book raises some serious questions about the emotional health of the authors.
Still life statrs out better than it ends. I out it down and read two (2) other books and finished it because I paid for it. It was ok.
